Last year during the state tournament, we had a Burlington-Edison team who was the 8 seed make the state title game. We will see if another underdog go deep into the playoffs.
Julia Dalan
Julia Dalan
Julia’s role on the court is going to expand for this WF West HS team that finished 5th in state last year. She came up big in their quarterfinal game last season, compiling 6 points with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. She is dominant down low and can hit the short range shot with ease. She is a force on defense, as she’s already 10th all time in blocks for WF West with 61 in her short career. She’ll be someone to watch over the next couple years.
Haylee Koetje
Haylee Koetje
The Lions were taken out fairly early in the 2A state tournament last year to WF West HS. Believe me when I say Lynden will be back better than ever. They have multiple key players returning to the team, including junior Haylee Koetje, who played a big part in last years team. Koetje is an overall offensive threat, she can score at all 3 levels whenever she chooses. Last year she was a top scorer for this team and that won’t change, in fact her role might just grow this year.
Rylee as a junior last year was a big part of this Ellensburg HS team that took home the state title win in the 2A class. She was surrounded by talent then and that won’t be any different this year. Rylee was one of the teams leading scorers, but she also is one of the top playmakers too. She always is sharing the ball with her teammates for easier shots for them. She has a solid shot herself and can get to the bucket well too. She will have a bigger role for this Ellensburg team who is looking to go back to back.

The Archbishop-Murphy HS team last year was very good, having quite a bit of talent all around. They have a couple key players returning including 2025 guard Ava Marr, who was a leading scorer last year. Another key player who will be on the team is freshman Brooke Blachly Brooke Blachly 5’8″ | CG Archbishop Murphy | 2026 State WA . Brooke is one of the best class of 2026 players I’ve seen in the state and might be the best shooter in the class. She is able to hit the deep shot as good as anyone in the class, she can make the shot with a hand in her face as well. She’s very unselfish on the court, often finding her teammates while running the court in transition. She’s going to fit in well alongside Marr in the backcourt, possibly forming the best pair of underclass players in the state.
