We’re quite nearly done talking about the Camden-area standouts and we get one step closer with this article, which talks about the top shooting guards in the area.
Kassidy Thompson Kassidy Thompson 5'9" | SG Camden Catholic | 2023 State NJ – 5-10, Camden Catholic (2023)
Thompson was a no-brainer to add to this list, the de-facto leader of Camden Catholic and one of the best perimeter shooters in South Jersey. Not just perimeter shooters, but shooters in general because she has such a smooth release, effortless and simple. Thompson doesn’t need to do much one she gets the ball to be in a comfortable position to shoot and she’s more than willing to take risks and get creative to score. Her three-point shooting went up tremendously as a junior and should be at the same level as a senior.
Eva Andrews Eva Andrews 5'10" | CG Paul VI | 2024 State NJ – 5-10, Paul VI (2024)
Andrews burst out onto the scene as a sophomore for Paul VI, knocking down nearly two three-pointers a game during the high school season. She’s backed up that high school success by grinding it out during the AAU season and balling out during No Boyz Allowed and Hoops4MS. Andrews is elevating her game in a big way playing against the best of the best in the state and the region. As the competition rises, so does she and she’s been as consistent as they come from the three-point arc.
Bryce Harvey-Carr Bryce Harvey-Carr 5'5" | SG Camden | 2023 State NJ – 5-5, Camden (2023)
Our first player in the city rankings to come from Camden, Harvey-Carr has been absolutely electric from beyond the arc, finishing last season with an average of 2.76 made three-pointers a game. That’s one of the highest marks in the entire state and when she got the ball on the wing or up top, she was taking her opportunities and knocking them down consistently. Having averaged nearly 15 points a game as a junior, Harvey-Carr could easily average close to four made three-pointers a game and score 20 points a game next season.
Riley Mulligan Riley Mulligan SG Haddonfield | 2023 State NJ – Haddonfield (2023)
Mulligan is one of the best pure shooting guards in the area and showcased that with a breakout junior season where she knocked down upwards of two three-pointers a game and made her presence felt from beyond the arc. Catch-and-shoot, creating on her own or shooting in transition, Mulligan made all three look all too easy for her. With over three-fourths of her offense coming from three, we’re expecting those numbers to continue to skyrocket into her senior season.
Brooke Sztenderowicz Brooke Sztenderowicz 5'7" | PG Cinnaminson | 2023 State NJ – 5-7, Cinnaminson (2023)
Sztenderowicz is a key returning piece for Cinnaminson this season after one of the best shooting performances of any player in program history as a junior. She more than doubled her three-point totals from the last two seasons combined during the 2021-22 campaign, hitting nearly two a game and 52 on the year. She really worked hard at her shot mechanics and cleaned them up will to succeed last season. The same has been done this summer in preparation for the fall.
Alexa Henry Alexa Henry 5'6" | CG Lenape | 2025 State NJ – 5-6, Lenape (2025)
If you haven’t seen the recent stretch of players that have come through Lenape, you’re missing out. Henry is amongst that group and has been one of the most electric underclassmen in the Olympic Conference. She has the skillset already of a veteran high school guard with the energy and electric personality of a young superstar. Henry can shoot as well as anyone in the region, able to create on her own or generate offense off a pass. She’s the type of player that can turn a game on its head by herself and shift the momentum in her favor.
