Lake Washington is an EXTREMELY talented team, as I’ll mention another player of theirs in this article. Ava is a phenomenal shooter, being able to hit consistently from deep all season long. She can drive by her defenders with her quick first step off the dribble, but her ability to stop right on the time and hit the shot is what stands out to me the most. Her release is so quick it makes it extremely hard for defenders to be able to get a hand in her face. Her passing capabilities are solid too, as she often finds open teammates down low. Defensively, she was a menace all year long! She played phenomenal on ball defense against every player she guarded. She’ll be another key part of this Lake Washington team that made the 3A state title game last year.
Speaking of that Lake Washington team that will be impressive, Sydney will also be a very key part of their season this upcoming winter. Standing at 6’1”, she’s able to use her body down low to easily get a bucket when a smaller defender is guarding her. She’s most effective from the high post, being able to turn and hit the shot or drive on her defenders and get down to the block. Her basketball IQ is outstanding, and that helps her on the court in so many ways. She reads the court very well, finding teammates in transition after grabbing rebounds. Her IQ shows on defense too, as she anticipates the passes in advance frequently. She’s poised for a fantastic season leading Lake Washington once again.

Kamiakin might just have the back backcourt in the state with Maddy & Memphis committ Nikole Thomas Nikole Thomas 5’10” | CG Kamiakin | 2023 State WA . Maddy herself is headed to Idaho State next year to play at the next level. Rendall earned 2nd team all MCC last year as a junior and could easily be first team this up coming season. She can hit the midrange jumper effectively and slash to the basket to score when she’s off ball. With the ball in her hand, she can beat defenders one on one as well. She’s a very confident shooter beyond the arc who’s length allows her to hit contested jumpers. She can defend multiple positions with her athleticism and length. She has developed into one of the top guards/wings in the state. Rendall & Thomas will be a duo to keep an eye on next season.

The recent Nevada commit, Isabel should have a great season next year after a great season last year being named all first team Metro league. Her play over the summer was really impressive too, as it seems like she really perfected her game. Sullivan has shifty handles and great playmaking ability to score from all three levels or find her teammates for open shots. She has a skill set that not many have in the state. Her lefty shot is efficient. She can get hot from the three line, shoot the pull-up jumper or drive to the basket and score. She can finish with the floater or layup, with either hand and shows off many athletic finishes during her summer league play.
