We released an updated rankings for the class of 2023 last week. Here is a look at some of the biggest movers inside the top 50 for the class of 2023!
Hannah Kohn Hannah Kohn 5'9" | CG Hagerty | 2023 State FL (Hagerty / Hoop Dreams) – 5’9 Guard
New Ranking: 26
Previous Ranking: 38
Kohn was one of my favorite players of the summer and one of the nation’s most prolific 3-point shooters! She gained national attention by knocking down 19 3-pointers in a single game this past prep season. Averaging over 24 points per game and surpassing the 2,000-career point mark, Kohn was a huge part of Hagerty HS success this past season. After receiving over a a dozen mid-major offers, she verbally committed to University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Her high percentage 3-point shooting and high-level skill set moves her up 12 spots to # 26 in the class of 2023 rankings.
Janessa Williams Janessa Williams 5'10" | SF King’s Academy | 2023 State FL (King’s Academy / Miami Suns) – 5’10 Wing
New Ranking: 29
Previous Ranking: 40
Williams is strong, athletic and versatile. She can play multiple positions and is a high level role player that plays hard on both ends and does all the intangibles. She is a good defender and rebounder who pursues loose balls, runs the floor hard, and gives 100% effort on every single play. She followed up a big Junior season with King’s Academy with a solid spring/summer with the Miami Suns competing against some of the strongest and most athletic girls basketball players across the country. While her stats do not always pop off the page, when you watch her play multiple games, you realize she is hard to take off the floor and does all the things necessary to help her team win the game. She moves up 11 spots to # 29 in the overall rankings!
Asiana Britt Asiana Britt 5'7" | CG DME Academy | 2023 State FL (DME Academy / DME Travel) – 5’7 Guard
New Ranking: 30
Previous Ranking: 33
Britt is a big, strong combo guard that can handle the rock and score both from the perimeter with her outside shooting as well as off the bounce attacking the rim. Her solid build allows her to penetrate the paint, absorbing contact and finishing at the rim and getting to the free throw line. She played a ton of minutes for DME this summer and was consistently one of top performers on the court. Britt moves up 3 spots to # 30 in the class of 2023 rankings!
Chariot Johnson Chariot Johnson 5'10" | SF Booker | 2023 State FL (Booker / East Coast United) – 5’10 Guard
New Ranking: 35
Previous Ranking: 43
Johnson has a long, slender, athletic build who has a quick first step, slashes to the rim using her athleticism and wingspan to get into the paint and score at the rim. She has a bounce to her step that separates her from the competition as her live body and energy are consistent and constant. She picked up a ton of college interest this past spring and summer and moves up 8 spots to # 35 overall in the class of 2023!
Morgan Sieper Morgan Sieper 6'0" | PG Plant | 2023 State FL (Plant / FGB) – 6’0 Guard / Wing
New Ranking: 36
Previous Ranking: 56
Sieper stands out on the court for her length, wingspan, versatility, and 3-point shooting ability. She can play multiple positions both at the guard and the forward spot, but is most effective as a face up 4 where she can stretch the defense running the floor as a trail post, knocking down 3s, putting the ball to the floor, and using her court vision and high basketball IQ to feed her teammates for east buckets. Coming off a solid travel season, Sieper verbally committed to Southern Miss and moves up 20 spots from # 56 to # 36 in the class of 2023 rankings!
Milan Santos Milan Santos 5'3" | PG Colonial HS | 2023 State FL (Colonial / Hoop Dreams) – 5’3 Guard
New Ranking: 46
Previous Ranking: 60
Santos is quick, heady, and very crafty with the ball in her hands. She plays aggressive but often makes it look effortless. She likes to play in transition, being aggressive by attacking the paint and pushing the tempo. She is equally as good of passer as she is scorer, giving up ball to open players while also finding opportunities to score herself. She moves up 14 spots and breaks the top 50, coming in at # 46 overall in the class of 2023.
