Taylor Montgomery Taylor Montgomery 5'5" | CG Marquette | 2023 State MO (Pattonville): A 2023 point guard who plays the position with her skill set and ability to communicate with her teammates as a vocal leader. She led the group in pre-camp stretching and I was impressed with how she was always talking and giving instruction and encouragement throughout the day. She runs a team well with her strong ball handling, high basketball IQ and good decision making. She dropped several nice dimes during the scrimmage and she was very effective at getting downhill off the dribble to score on layups.
Abby Sievers (St. Joseph’s): A solid 5’10” 2024 forward who has good skills and good fundamentals. She handled the ball well and she was able to score on some nice drives in the lane. She was assertive without trying to force things too much. She could also hit the Corner 3-pointer with good accuracy as well as rebound the basketball.
Shakara McCline (East St. Louis, IL): The 5’6″ 2023 scoring point guard was easily the most talented player that we saw on Saturday. She showcased her impressive array of offensive skills during the scrimmage sessions. She has quickness, smooth handles and an excellent change of pace dribble to get by defenders and into the lane. She also has a feathery shooting touch from 3-point range and she can also create her own shot. She also dropped some impressive dimes in the transition game.
Haley Ottenschneider (Breese Central, IL): A 5’8″ 2023 guard from Southern Illinois who is physically strong with excellent handles and court vision. She is a very unselfish player who was always looking for the open teammate, which led to some very impressive passes. She also made some nice reads on the pick and roll as she scorer who can get downhill or pull up and hit the jumper.
Zoe Newland (Pattonville): A 2024 point guard who really impressed me during the skills and drills portion of the camp. She has good speed and quickness and she can handle the ball well while going in either direction. She also has a nice change of pace and she can knock down shots from the perimeter.
