The High School division featured 80+ athletes from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and more. The gym was packed with so much talent, and the players listed below made an impact on the court and stood out to me in the class of 2024.
Saliyah Landon | G / 5-7 | Midwest City HS | 2024
Saliayh is a shifty guard with an explosive motor. Her first step is quick and she will surprise you with her handles, keeping defenders on their heels and knocking them off balance. She is poised and will come off the screen and hit the 3 pointers with confidence. She plays good on-ball defense and rotates off ball pretty good as well. She plays hard and plays to win, is a good teammate, and is coachable.
Amaya Grissom Amaya Grissom 5'5" | PG Edmond Santa Fe | 2024 State OK | PG / 5-7 | Edmond Santa Fe HS | 2024
Amaya is a shifty point guard that can control the pace of the game. She makes good decisions and knows how to find her teammates. At the end of a game, you would want the ball in her hands because she can use her quick hands and feet to keep away for the defense. In the open floor she can score it pretty easily, but as the lead guard will find the open teammate. Amaya works hard and approaches the game the correct way.
Riley Trammell Riley Trammell 6'2" | PF Mustang | 2024 State OK | F / 6-2 | Mustang HS | 2024
Riley is a long post player that can score in a variety of ways. She stretches the floor with her shooting ability and when she gets the ball down low, she can score with her back to the basket. Her footwork is pretty good and she can score over the right shoulder consistently. The High-post is where she is at her best being able to hit the jumper or shot-fake and drive to the rim. Defensively, she uses her length to protect the rim, rebound the ball, and make the offensive player think twice when in the paint.
Christin Callens Christin Callens 5'10" | CG Klein Collins | 2024 State TX | F / 5-11 | Klein Collins HS (TX) | 2024
Christin is a strong post player with a lot of upsides to her game. She has a motor that certainly translate at the college level, and applies her athleticism on every play. She has a long wing span, good for rebounding, getting deflections, and more rebounds. She can push the ball in the open floor and has the ability to shift her defender, get them on her hip and score at the basket effortlessly. She can also score with her back to the basket and overpower defenders with her size.
Makenna Yokley Makenna Yokley 6'1" | PF Owasso | 2024 State OK | F / 6-1 | Owasso HS | 2024
Makenna is a long post player with some guard tendencies. When she catches the ball, she is poised and patient but is ready to make a play. She surveys the court to find the right play to make. If the opportunity is there, she quickly rips the ball and gets to the basket against the slower opponent, and also drives and uses her body well against smaller players. Defensively she works hard and can guard multiple positions if needed.
