Continue ReadingI have parents/coaches and even players saying “you need to be here or see her” and my response is usually filled with naughty words so let me clean it up with, “you need to be where I am”. I don’t watch videos, other than the ones I make of myself with grandchildren or clients I’m helping to get exposure for the next level. This event was PERFECT for players I hadn’t seen or seen enough of
Please note I do not COPY anyone, I could care less what those who have been in power since my daughter played say, I understand how political things are now, it was like that back then yet with social media, it can be scary but what’s more alarming is when people buy into nonsense, yet it will only get worse
I’m closing the event out with the NEW FACES who grabbed my attention with their potential and upside
Ivory Scott Ivory Scott 5'6" waco | 2023 TX -5’6 CG (Waco) 2023
Scott applied heat almost immediately on the defensive end and with her understanding as well as desiring how to apply heat on the defensive side. she helped create turnovers, either coming up with steals or forcing players into traps yet she attacked the basket strongly and finished after contact
Kinlee Hill Kinlee Hill 5'7" | SG Durant | 2023 OK -5’7 CG (Durant) 2023
Hill did a good job of not only creating for herself but for her teammates as well. She handled the ball and saw the floor while being pressured but she also made the right passes to the right person while being tightly guarded. She used a deceptive first step to get open for the jumper, attacked off the dribble as well
Addison Tippit-5’7 CG (McKinney North) 2024
Tippit also did a good job of creating her shot under pressure and she showed she could knock down the pull-up jumper multiple times. Another huge part of her game is that she “plays within herself” meaning she doesn’t force things and she also understood how to get hers “in the flow”
Emilee Totino Emilee Totino 5'7" | C Deweyville | 2024 TX -5’7 CG (Deweyville) 2024
Totino is heady, comprehends the game on both ends, and does so many things that won’t show up on a score or stat sheet. She reads picks before they happen, and she understands how t set picks but her solid defense including going after loose balls stood out. She also scored off the dribble
Elsy Hartman Elsy Hartman 5'8" | SG Rick Reedy | 2024 TX -5’8 CG (Ricky Reedy) 2024
Hartman also “gets it” and her poise under pressure was something you can’t teach. I love how she stayed under control while handling the ball and her court vision was also something I gave her pluses on. She sets the defender up nicely to attack the rim where she could either finish or dish
Lillian Hodge Lillian Hodge 5'8" Providence Preparatory | 2025 TX -5’8 CG (Providence Preparatory) 2025
Hodge was another player that enjoyed playing defense and she brought it “on the ball” baseline to baseline. She also did a good job defending in the halfcourt, and understood not only when to switch but to call out picks, which falls into “being vocal on the court”. She attacked and finished
Matea Stroder Matea Stroder 5'7" | SG The Woodlands | 2025 TX -5’7 CG ( The Woodlands) 2025
Stroder is not only an athletic guard but an athletic guard that defends and rebounds. She understands positioning, which was big as it enabled her to battle against taller players, on both ends of the court. She finished on putbacks yet she also has a nice first step that got her to the basket for buckets
Cynaa Weathers Cynaa Weathers 5'8" | SF Tarrant County South Campus - FWISD Early Collegiate | 2025 TX -5’8 CG (Tarrant County) 2025
Weathers is “long and athletic” and please absorb my saying that is the base, not only for me but for several college coaches. She reads the floor well, she plays the passing lane, she rebounds, and did a good job defending, which was smothering at times. Her midrange and scoring off the dribble were also solid
