Luau did a good job scoring off the dribble immediately and she did it in a variety of ways, attacking from both the left and right angles and even down the middle yet I was equally impressed with her body control and finishing. She knocked down the outside shot, she played solid defense and she also did what I always love to see, played the passing lane
Callie Tucker Callie Tucker 5'2" | SG Hillsboro | 2026 TX – 5’2 (Hillsboro) Lady Pride
Tucker also played the passing lane, I’m huge on that but she also showed quick hands while defending and came away with steals that way as well. Her “on the ball” defense was solid and helped create turnovers by applying pressure. On the flip, the pressure didn’t both her offensively as she created her shot and knocked it down while being defended, she also took the defender off the dribble and finished after contact
Bryn Hatch Bryn Hatch 5'6" | SG Van Alstyne | 2026 TX – 5’6 (Van Alstyne)
Hatch popped out impressively to start it off by showing she could knock down jumpers, be it in the set or in transition, her pull-up was nice. She also shot it well off the screen yet I’m still visualizing the stop and pop in the open court. She mixed it up to keep the defender honest by attacking using a deceptive first step yet she too, you guessed it, played the passing lane
Sicily Jackson Sicily Jackson 5'3" | SG McMillen (feeds To Plano East) | 2026 TX -5’3 (McMillen) DC Queens
Jackson found ways to “Just Beat It” as she blew by defenders in the open court and her court vision just set everything off as she made tough passes look easy in transition. She also dropped it from outside, as well as off the dribble but her smothering defense created some problems for the opposing ballhandlers. Her quick hands got her some steals, and guess what, so did her playing the passing lane
Anna Nolan Anna Nolan 5'6" | CG Ursuline Academy Of Dallas | 2026 TX -5’6 (Ursuline Academy Of Dallas)
Nolan created her shot under pressure over and over, almost effortlessly as she found ways to get it off, while being defended, and knock it down. She has a variety of moves, her release is quick and fluid and she showed she could drop it from, well anywhere. The midrange pull-up was solid, her range was, I wrote DEEP, so it was almost from NBA territory, and she scored off the dribble
Roselyn Melgoza Roselyn Melgoza 5'5" | SG Bishop Lynch High School | 2026 TX -5’5 (Bishop Lynch) Dallas Roadrunners
Melgoza scored off the dribble, with power, and finished the same way, powerfully and after contact. I like how she set the defender up and just went at whoever was guarding her yet she also played within herself, meaning she didn’t force shots and understood how to get hers “in the flow”. Speaking of flow, the jumper was flowing and she showed she could create it under pressure and dropped the pull-up numerous times
Kaliyah Arps Kaliyah Arps 5'5" | SG Kaufman | 2026 TX -5’5 (Crandall) CDG God’s Way
Arps was one of the biggest surprises for me, even though I had heard many things about her, in this era, I have to actually see for myself. Well her game spoke for itself as she’s “long and athletic” and for those who haven’t been paying attention, that is the base. Her acrobatic finishes coupled with her explosive first step, along with her playing around the world and dropping the jumper from everywhere, mid to long-range, JUST DID IT for me
