#73 Jasmin Holt Jasmin Holt 5'9" | SG Captain John Chapin | 2023 State TX -5’9 SG (Captain John Chapin) Team Fusion
Holt was one of the toughest players that could actually play that I caught this club season. I hadn’t really looked at her club team due to conflicts yet she comes from an area loaded with hidden gems. She rebounds against players over “the magic number” which is 6’0, well she finishes on putbacks against them as well. I love how she creates her shot effortlessly, mid to long range as well as off the dribble is more than solid, and she defends
#81 Ramsey Robledo Ramsey Robledo 5'8" | SG Clark | 2023 State TX – 5’8 SG (SA Clark) SA Hoops Elite
Robledo has been one of those players that were heady and steady throughout her career and her playing within herself was a definite eye-catcher. In last season’s playoff, he turned into a scoring machine putting up numbers and helping her squad make a deep run and that translated over to the club season where she was one of the most consistent players on both ends every time I saw her. She can drop the jumper with a hand in her face but she also sees the floor and makes food decisions
#98 Erin Love Erin Love 6'0" | PF Bellaire | 2023 State TX -6’0 PF (Bellaire) Houston Dream
Love has progressed every season since I caught her heading into high school and her mindset, coupled with her desire is “you won’t outwork me” and that mentality, as well as her power in the paint, has legitimized her status as a next-level player. She finishes strongly around the rim, even faces it for the short jumper, and watching her score, as well as rebound against physical opponents, always has me smiling. To top it off, she does a good job defending
#100 Mya Wilson Mya Wilson 5'7" | CG Stephenville | 2023 State TX -5’7 CG (Stephenville) Platinum Basketball
Wilson turned it completely up in the club season and what I love about her is that she silently fills up the stat sheet. Yeah, she knocks the mid to long-range down and yes, she scores off the dribble and finishes after the lick but it’s the other things. She rebounds on both ends, against taller opponents, handles the ball, and sees the floor under pressure, yet her “on the ball” defense as well as quick hands help create turnovers. One more thing, she plays the passing lane
#101 India Jackson India Jackson 5'10" | PF Fort Bend Austin | 2023 State TX -6’0 PF ( Fort Bend Austin) IJU
Jackson instantly made a believer out of me watching her support her teammates from the sideline, hey I can’t help what I love to see, and trust me, college coaches love it too. They also love physicality, giving, and taking, and her ability to score with players hanging on her gives you an idea of her strength and power. She has the “hands ad footwork” down pat but her moves outside the paint, like attacking from the wing are nice, and so is the midrange. Add rebounding and defending and voila
#102 Elizabeth Walton Elizabeth Walton 5'7" | PG The Village | 2023 State TX -5’7 PG (The Village School) TNBA
Walton had me wanting to say “good night John Boy” several times when she had the ball in the clutch and unlike my mail carrier, she delivers on time, over and over again. She’s smooth and not flashy, yet gets it done. She can drop the mid to long-range jumper, she can score off the dribble and her body control and ability to create contact make her not only an “and one” waiting to happen, but a highlight waiting to happen. Good court vision understands how to control the tempo
#104 Emma Lucio Emma Lucio 5'10" | SG PSJA North | 2023 State TX -5’10 SG (PSJA North) Valley Rebels
Lucio was more than Super at the Super 64. I cover a lot of courts because I don’t need to see the same players a thousand times to know what I’m looking at and being a REAL EVALUATOR, watching her drop the jumper and attack the basket had me smiling. She’s also long and athletic and with her size falls into that “college coaches love big guards that can shoot” but peep this, she also showed she could not only create her shot but “catch and shoot” it
#116 Keshanti Gordon Keshanti Gordon 5'10" | SG Paris | 2023 State TX -5’10 SG (Paris) NSA
Gordon was a pleasant surprise at Prime Time’s National Basketball Championship and one more time, I don’t care about logos, shoe affiliations, or any other irrelevant thing many think matters because all that matters to me is what you do on the court. Her on-the-ball defense was smothering, yeah she’s long and athletic and attacked the basket from everywhere but she also showed she could drop the jumper, mid to long-range, in the set, as well as in transition, and her “stop and pop” was very nice. Guess what else” She plays the passing lane
