The Sophomore class was well represented at the recent Select 50 Showcase in Pensacola FL. There were quality players from Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. In this article, we look at some of the standout 2025 guards at the Select 50 Showcase.

Floyd was probably the best shooter/scorer at the showcase. She was aggressive with the ball in her hand and she got her shot off anytime she wanted to. Most of the shots she connected on were behind the arc. She also did a good job of getting to the rim and scoring in the paint. She basically got any shot she wanted. Floyd’s confidence in her abilities separated her from a lot of the talented ball players at the showcase. Floyd also dished out a few nice passes, but her main objective at the showcase was scoring the ball and she did just that.
/ 5’6 PG / Oakleaf High School
Brown really played well at the Select 50 Showcase. She has really solidified herself as one of the top 2025 players on the First Coast and the entire state of Florida. Brown’s confidence, execution, and shooting have all seen a boost since this past AAU season. Brown took the Select 50 showcase and ran with it. She handled the ball primarily and immediately took over as her team’s leader. Her “stop and pop” in transition was very good and her shooting from behind the arc was also impressive. The most noticeable difference in Brown’s game was her confidence and demeanor.
/5’7 PG / Lakeview – Fort Oglethorpe, GA
Collins was one of the purest shooters at the Select 50 Showcase. She is one of those players who just has the “it” factor on the court. She was nearly automatic from behind the 3 point line. She has very good ball-handling skills and knows how to get her shots off at any time. The younger Collins played very good defense and was a very good all-around point guard who could distribute the ball to open players when she was double-teamed.
/ 5’5 SG / New Smyrna Beach, FL
Austell played well at the showcase and really did a good job of shooting the ball when the shooting opportunities presented themselves. In addition to shooting well, Austell played solid defense, ran the floor well, and was energetic on both sides of the court. She is a selfless player who knows how to score and make plays for herself and for her teammates.
/ 5’7 SG / Olympia, FL
Johnson was an aggressive player on the court. She ran the ball very well and let it fly from behind the arc. She connected on several shots from behind the arc. Her athleticism and good length also stood out on the court.
The Select 50 Showcase highlighted talented girl ball players from Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. All of the players brought unique and special talents to the event. At this event, some players were more aggressive and consequently stood out a little more than others.
