We are gonna identify the headliners, they tough and gritty and those that have not been shown any exposure that deserve it. Do your best to come on down and take a look at some of this talented bunch of teams. See you there on Sunday. Here are a couple of girls who will be there and who will be impactful in our opinion. Hope you agree….
2024, 6’3, C, Whitney HS, Harper Peterson Harper Peterson 6'3" | C Whitney | 2024 State CA – Peterson is a young player that has some high upside. She can be a scoring wing and she makes good decisions with the ball in her hands. Confident player who is patient and doesn’t force the issue. Good shooter from three-point range who can move well without the ball and get herself open. Solid player in transition who gets out and can finish strong at the rim. Good length defensively.
2024, 5’8, CG, San Joaquin Memorial HS, Jailynn Clayton Jailynn Clayton 5'7" | SG San Joaquin Memorial | 2024 State CA – Jailyn is a veteran, she is has been in the forefront for years in her skills that she possesses for her teams benefit. She can shoot the ball, she can drive and get to the rim thru contact and she is a nice stop and pop shooter we have witnessed. She is tough and rugged and her overall game IQ is getting higher and higher each season, she is a player, do not get it twisted.
2024, 6’4, C, Redondo Union HS, Ella Zimmerman Ella Zimmerman 6'4" | C Redondo Union | 2024 State CA – Ella is smooth with it, she not only can play in the paint and be very efficient, but she is skilled at the midrange game, she knocks down the shot when needed. She has good size in the paint, she uses those long arms to score inside or block a shot of an opponent. She has soft hands and can seal her defender and turn and score over them, we love to watch her get mismatches in the paint and take advantage. She is developing the three pointer as we watched her.
2024, 5’11, PF, Gardena Serra HS, Brooklyn Taylor Brooklyn Taylor 6'0" | PF Long Beach Poly | 2024 State CA – Taylor is a player I’ve seen a couple of times now in the past few months and she really stood out this weekend on the defensive end. She’s a long forward who is capable of playing some center; but she did a good job keeping up with wings on the perimeter and staying low the ground. She also did a good job protecting the paint and blocking shots. Offensively, she looked much better than when I last saw her in terms of finishing at the rim. She’s really developing some low post moves.
