Georgia Acompanado Georgia Acompanado 5'8" | PG Pius XI | 2025 State WI
This season, Acompanado will be at Pius, and I think she’ll have an opportunity to play a role that suits her skillset. Acompanado is a lead guard at her best, playing an aggressive style. Having Tess Wiczek Tess Wiczek 5'7" | PG Pius XI Catholic | 2025 State WI on the Pope’s roster will let Acompanado do what she does best. When Acompanado gets into transition or beats her initial defender off the dribble in the half-court offense, she can get to the rim and finish at a high level.
Faith Walder Faith Walder 5'5" | PG West De Pere | 2025 State WI
The West De Pere product is one of the best finishers around the basket in the 2025 class. Although Walder is right-handed, I think she finishes better with her left, which makes it hard for defenses to play her because you can’t shade her one way or the other. The Phantom is also an excellent playmaker. She always digests where her teammates are and what’s happening on the floor. Nothing gets by her. Walder has a high basketball IQ. You can tell she understands how to manipulate defenses with her eyes, body, and dribble. There are times when the sophomore drives, and you can see Walder wants to draw the defender in the corner in a step before firing a pass to the corner for an open 3-pointer. She does more than play the game, and I love it.
Ella Francois Ella Francois 5'7" | PG West De Pere | 2025 State WI
Walder’s running mate in the West De Pere backcourt is the perfect balance to what Walder does on the floor. For instance, Walder has some more elusiveness to her game and wants to go around her initial defender. Francois doesn’t care, she can shake a defender on the perimeter, but sometimes she’ll go through her. Francois is also an outstanding athlete. She can accelerate on the open floor and create significant distance between herself and the nearest defender in a few steps.
Danica Gosz Danica Gosz 5'8" | SG Germantown | 2025 State WI
Highlights
There’s an Emile Wizner-sized hole in Germantown’s rotation this year, and I think Gosz is a perfect replacement. She’s an excellent perimeter shooter, and with KK Arnold KK Arnold 5'10" | PG Germantown | 2023 State #8 Nation WI ‘s ability to draw the attention of everyone in the gym, shooters will have plenty of open shots this season. I thought this summer, Gosz showed that she could reliably get to the basket off the dribble and finish through contact. If things go right for Gosz and Germantown, we could see her skillset help the Warhawks get back to the Resch Center.
