The updated class rankings came out in September. We continue to break down the rankings. Let’s take a look at some of the top guards outside the top 25 in the class of 2023.
Arianna Mosley Arianna Mosley 5'9" | SF Tampa Prep | 2023 State FL (Tampa Prep / FGB) – 5’9 Guard
Ranking: 37
Position Ranking: 6
Mosley is an athlete and a scorer! She is hard to stop simply because she is hard to keep her in front of you as a defender. She has an impressive build and has a major base foundation of height, strength and size that make her an extremely intriguing prospect and potential big-time player as she continues to put everything together. She can shoot the 3, handle the rock, get to the rim and is an active and aggressive defender.
Mariah Mckenzie Mariah Mckenzie 5'8" | CG American Heritage Plantation | 2023 State FL (South Broward / FGB South Florida) – 5’8 PG
Ranking: 44
Position Ranking: 17
McKenzie has always been one of the top prospects in South Florida due to her very impressive athletic build. She has raw talent that when she puts everything together, makes her an impact player that can affect the outcome of games on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. McKenzie is not just an athlete, she can score off the bounce, shoot it from the outside, and create offense from her defense and turn it into points in transition.
Jazmine Major Jazmine Major 5'5" | CG Palm Bay Magnet | 2023 State FL (Palm Bay / East Coast United) – 5’5 PG
Ranking: 49
Previous Ranking: 61
Position Ranking: 18
Major moves up 12 spots from # 61 to # 49 overall and is one of the class of 2023s biggest stock risers. She is very steady, and consistent on both sides of the ball and can play both the PG and the SG position. Major is a 5’5 combo guard that is good athlete and has good strength.
Madison Aguilera Madison Aguilera 5'3" | PG Gulliver Prep | 2023 State FL (Miami Christian / Miami Suns Mompremier) – 5’3 PG
Ranking: 64
Position Ranking: 11
Aguilera is a small but mighty skilled scoring point guard that has excellent handle and is doing a better job playing under composure. She is a natural scorer that can fill it up from 3, at the rim, or off the dribble. Her handle and IQ allow her to run her team’s offense, distribute the ball to scorers, and create scoring opportunities for herself.
Ty’Asia Childs Ty’Asia Childs 5'8" | SF Evans | 2023 State FL (Evans / Orlando Basketball Club) – 5’7 PG
Ranking: 161
Position Ranking: 30
Childs moves up a couple spots in the rankings because she is a no-nonsense player that plays emotionless but is super competitively. Her on court presence is soothing and calming for her coach and her teammates. She was one of OBCs top playmakers and scorers all summer, proving she can get to the basket using a mixture of combination moves off the dribble while also having the ability to knock down the three.
Mary Kinney Mary Kinney 5'3" | PG West Orange HS | 2023 State FL (West Orange / Orlando Basketball Club) – 5’3 SG
Ranking: 218
Position Ranking: 41
Kinney is a strong, stocky guard that does not back down from her opponents and is extremely tough. She sets the tone for her teammates on both sides of the ball with her intensity, aggressiveness and physical play, playing through injury and pain. She is a Pitbull that plays in your face defense, putting lots of pressure on the ball, and does a good job forcing opposing guards into turnovers and not allowing them to run their teams offense. She has a consistent outside shot and can also put the ball on the floor to get to the basket.
