Continue ReadingAll of the players on this list have shown glimpses of what they can do and the sky is the limit for each of them. Many have very impressive rankings and a lot of that is based on where they are going and not where they are at right now. Each year in high school, the bar is raised and no player on this list is an exception. In this article we hilight some very good players who are ready to take their games to a different level.
Aniyah Fisher Aniyah Fisher 5'9" | SF St. Augustine HS | 2024 State FL / 5’10 SF / St Augustine
Fisher might be the most versatile player on this list and definitely one of he best players in the 2024 class. Fisher can play three or four positions on the floor. Offensively, she can do it all. She has always been a great slasher who could get to the rim when she wanted to. Over the summer AAU period, Fisher consistently knocked down the long ball and showed that she is a legitimate shooter from all levels of the court. Defensively, Fisher was brilliant in the press and playing the passing lanes. She can intercept passes and take it to the rack and score. Last season, St Augustine lost some key parts and scoring. Replacing the output of seniors who left will be a tall order to fill, but Fisher will help fill that void. Fisher is primed to elevate her game to a different level. She showed it over the summer and it’s time for the encore performance.
Yakiya Milton Yakiya Milton 6'4" | PF Mandarin | 2024 FL / 6’4 SF, PF / Mandarin
This season comes with a lot of expectations for the 6’4 Milton who will compete this year at Mandarin. Milton is one the most intriguing players in the State of Florida. Already one of the most sought after recruits in the State, Milton is geared to showcase some abilities that don’t make the headlines: her ability to shoot the long range jumper or the midrange game in the paint; her ability to run the court like a guard and score in transition like no one has seen before; and she is ready to show that in addition to a being a good shoot blocker, she can also defend in the paint and on the wings. A lot of things have been written about Milton’s potential as a player, and she is ready to take her game to the next level.
Nyla Patrizio Nyla Patrizio 6'2" | C Cocoa | 2024 FL / 6’2 PF / Rockledge
Patrizio was a standout in the recent Southeast Showcase in Melbourne. She is a strong power forward player who continues to get better and stronger inside the paint. She is on the verge of being a really special player. She is very athletic, rebounds well, runs well, and can score the ball. With her skillset, the expectations are higher this upcoming season. Last year, Patrizio averaged 4 points and 4 rebounds in just 10 games. The forward is expected to have a breakout season and should double those averages. The time is now for this “budding” Junior forward.
Saniya Frazier / 5’9 SF / Park Vista
Frazier is an athletic small forward who gets after it on both sides of the court. Frazier was very good at the Select 50 Showcase. She got her share of blocked shots and scores in the paint. She is a very good forward who is quick to the ball. At Select 50, Frazier was good in transition and also rebounded well on both ends of the court. She is poised to have a good junior year.
Kennedy Hill Kennedy Hill 5'9" | SF Andrew Jackson | 2024 State FL / 5’9 SF / Jackson HS
Hill is one of the most athletic players on the First Coast, and probably the fastest. Hill has placed in the State Finals the last two years in track and field, which is her bread and butter sport. Hill is no slouch in basketball either. The Junior forward scored 20 points in the second half of a Gateway Conference tournament game last season. Andrew Jackson High School (Jacksonville) lost some very good players and at left a huge void in the scorebook. It will take a team effort to fill the void. Hill will grab the “baton” and do her part on the court.
Autumn Thomas Autumn Thomas 5'10" | SF Palm Bay | 2024 State FL / 6’0 SF / Palm Bay
After seeing Thomas at the Southeast Showcase and at some open gym workouts, the Junior forward is definitely ready to do her thing. She plays on the same team as Emma Risch Emma Risch 6'2" | PG Palm Bay | 2023 State #23 Nation FL and Kiara Williams Kiara Williams 6'1" | PF Palm Bay Magnet | 2024 State FL and they get a lot of attention. Keep an eye on Thomas, she has a lot of talent. At the showcases and open gyms, her athleticism and ability to finish in the paint have really been on display. Thomas can also run in transition, shoot the midrange, and shoot the three. In addition to her versatility, her effort stands out on the court. She works hard and is passionate about the game. That will translate to a special season, not only for herself, but also for Palm Bay.
