Jailah Pelly (O’Fallon): A 5’9″ guard who plays with a motor that never stops. When she has the ball in her hands, she is always on the attack. Even if a defender gives up a step or two, she is still going to get downhill with her tremendous burst of speed. She can also change directions while on the move and she is an excellent finisher in the lane. She can also drop off a very nice dime while on the move.
Alivia McCulla (Parkway South): The 6’1″ forward is a very effective scoring threat in the low post area. She seals defenders well inside and she can catch and score with either hand around the basket. She’s very mobile and she plays the game with good fundamentals.
Kanise Mills Kanise Mills 5'6" | SG Lift for Life Academy | 2023 State MO (Lift for Life): A 5’6″ point guard who is a defensive whiz and plays the game with a lot of energy. Her on-ball defensive pressure is always a constant with her. She was very effective in the open court where she was pushing the ball in transition. She has also become more assertive as an offensive player.
Binta Fall (MICDS): The 5’10” forward is a nice blend of physical strength and finesse and it comes through in her versatile game. She can play the power game in the low post with her ability seal for position and score in the paint. She is just as comfortable facing the basket with her passing and ball handling skills. She can knock down the high post jumper and put the ball on the floor.
Keyara Baerga-Plumey (Belleville West): A talented metro east area guard who did an excellent job in the open court as she pushed the ball at every opportunity. She was capable of scoring in the lane as she used her body to ward of contact from bigger defenders. She could also hit the open 3-pointer. Her passing skills were also very solid.
Destiny Polk (Lafayette): An athletic guard who played a number of different roles to help her team succeed. She was very good at moving and cutting to get herself open for layups. She is a solid rebounder and defender who can also handle the ball. She is a very effective slashing threat who can get downhill on the dribble.
Lauren Bennett (Lift for Life): A 6’0″ forward who is a very effective offensive threat in the post. She has a nice touch around the basket and she can score with both hands. Her fundamentals are good as she can use her physical strength to establish position inside.
