Kutz brings quick defensive instincts while providing a consistent dose of shooting. The incoming junior combo guard should be one of the two or three most influential athletes at Saint Mary’s, coming in as the team’s leading rebounder among returners. Kutz will bring shooting gravity as a complementary scoring threat, knocking down 40% of her 67 three pointers last season. A large majority of her three point makes come from the catch, although she has shown flashes of pull-up shooting. As a help side defender, Kutz stays poised attacking passing lanes, coming into St. Mary’s as their leading returner in steals per game (3.2). This past season at Saint Mary’s, Kutz averaged 10.3 points, 5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.2 steals per game. Within the 2024 class, Kutz ranks 113th overall and 48th among combo guards.
Madelyn Johnson – Salida – 2026
While only a 2026, Johnson brings an intriguing blend of deep shooting range and live dribble playmaking. The incoming freshman guard made waves at the Uprise Athletics Group Showcase, where she was playing against upperclassmen. Johnson became more comfortable throughout the second half of the day, as she flashed sharpshooting well beyond the three point line. She brings potential as a downhill scoring threat, where she uses her shooting gravity to stretch out the defense.
Emily Deha Emily Deha 5'9" | CG Flatirons Academy | 2024 CO – Flatirons Academy – 2024 (combo)
Dehaan will be returning to a loaded group at Flatirons Academy, while third in points per game last season at 13.5. The incoming junior combo guard shows potential as a shooter when given space, notably having one of the higher arcing shots in her class. At roughly 5’9, Dehaan is capable matching up with both guard spots and does well staying aware of off-ball movement. Her combination of wiry strength and quick hips allow her to be a pest on the defensive end. This past season at Flatirons Academy, she averaged 13.5 points (3rd on team), 3.8 rebounds (3rd), 2.3 assists (2nd), and 2.3 steals per game (2nd). Coming into this season, Dehaan ranks 48th in the class and 20th among combo guards.
Lily Boydstun Lily Boydstun 5'5" | PG Mountain Vista | 2024 State CO – Mountain Vista – 2024
Boydstun brings playmaking pedigree while only standing roughly 5’5, constantly surveying the floor for open shooters. The incoming junior point guard will have a key season ahead, leading Mountain Vista in assists per game (2.6) last season. The group will retain the majority of last season’s roster spots, allowing for another full season to build chemistry from the 11-13 record last season. Another area of intrigue resides in Boydstun’s defensive intensity, averaging the team high of 3 steals per game. One area that allowed Boydstun to excel on defense is her strong hands while ripping away the rock, notably going right at opponents who failed to react in time. This past season at Moutain Vista, Boydstun averaged 6.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 3 steals per game. The incoming junior currently ranks 62nd in the 2024 class and 6th among point guards.
