Bailey Johnson-G (St John’s) 2026
Johnson is a “long and athletic” guard with some very nice upside. She did a good job attacking the basket from multiple angles and finished after contact a few times. She moves her feet well on defense and did a good job reacting to switches plus she played the passing lane which is always a plus
Skye Shell-G (Fort Bend Christian) 2026
Shell falls into that group I hashtag #SizeDontMatter because she showed she could play. She’s fearless and didn’t mind mixing it up to rebound against taller players yet she also used her athleticism to “man-up” defensively, I’m talking “on the ball” baseline to baseline. She also plays within herself
Genesis Carter-G (Hitchcock) 2024
Carter is an athletic guard that not only did a good job on the defensive end, but she also read the floor and played the passing lane and I can’t emphasize the importance of players doing that. She also handled the ball under pressure and did a good job of creating her shot to attack the basket for buckets
Madison Marshall Madison Marshall 5'6" | SG Kinkaid | 2024 State TX -G (Kinkaid) 2024
Marshall was yet another athletic guard that played the passing lane, see above. I also saw her not only create her shot but knock it down with a hand in her face. She then showed she could drop it after the “catch and shoot” but her deceptive first step enabled her to get to the basket a few times
Ameenat Adisa-G (Hastings) 2023
Adisa scored well off the dribble, yeah, she too is an athletic guard but when she attacks, she also showed that she had nice body control on her finishes. She also saw the floor and made good decisions plus she did a good job on the defensive end as well as hit the boards, on both ends of the court
Larsyn Catalon-Bolden-G (Cy Springs) 2023
Catalon-Bolden is needless to say another athletic guard that brought the heat. In fact, her defensive pressure was “smothering” at times and helped create turnovers. Her quick hands also caused some turnovers as she came away with steals, in fact after the steal, she showed she could go coast to coast and score. In the set, she took defenders off the dribble nicely
Kalissa Grant-G (Wheatley) 2023
Grant scored both off the dribble and with the short jumper. She attacked the basket strongly and finished after the lick but the short pull-up was nice, even in transition. She also played the passing lane and did a good job defending her man
Tranisha Booker-G (Kashmere)
Booker enjoyed playing defense yet what was equally impressive was her diving on the floor for loose balls. She battled for everything, even went after the ball off the rim
