Kim Davis Powell and John McGraw got together to host the 2022 Show-N-Prove Showcase in Bradenton, FL at IMG Academy. The two-day event featured some of the state’s top players across the 2023-2030 classes. We were in attendance for both days and will break down the performance of the events top players. Here we look at the top performances on day 2 by the class of 2023 and 2024.
Class of 2023
Taylor Blackshear Taylor Blackshear 5'7" | SG Benjamin School | 2023 State FL (The Benjamin School / Essence) – 5’7 Guard
Blackshear is fast, aggressive and athletic. She is constantly pushing the ball in transition, attacking the rim and looking to score. She can play both guard spots and gets after it on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. She is a high energy player, who is all over the court every time I see her play.
Naveyah Damon (Miami Country Day / Essence) – 6’0 Wing
The recent Oakland University signee body stood out in a gym full of talented players for her strong, athletic, long build. Damon is legit 6’0 with a 6’2+ wingspan and is very versatile, capable of playing multiple perimeter positions. She has a huge upside and a ton of potential.
Class of 2024
Ciniya Moore Ciniya Moore 5'10" | CG IMG Academy | 2024 State FL (IMG Academy / FGB) – 5’10 Guard
Moore is a big, strong guard who has deep 3-point range and plays under control. She did a good job spacing the floor and being ready to shoot in catch and shoot situations off penetration, as well as shot faking and taking to the ring. Her strong build allows her to take contact at the rim and finish for 3-point play opportunities or get to free throw line.
Karishma Ortiz Karishma Ortiz 5'9" | PG Timber Creek | 2024 State FL (Timber Creek / BlueStar Orlando) – 5’9 Point Guard
Ortiz is a skilled, talented perimeter player who is a capable scorer and long length and versatility allow her to guard multiple positions. She has a solid overall skill set where she can handle the ball as a distributor setting up her teammates for buckets, attack off the dribble, and knock down open shots from the perimeter.
Raeanne Eccleston Raeanne Eccleston 6'2" | PF Colonial HS | 2024 State FL (Colonial HS / Team 40) – 6’2 Center
Eccleston is an interior post player that can play both forward and center. She is long and active, doing a good job contesting shots at the rim, mixing it up in the paint, as well as stepping out to the high post and 3-point line. Her offensive production is a work in progress, but she is a potential major stock riser. One of the top available post players in the class of 2024, Eccleston should be a name for college coaches to keep on the radar and continue to monitor her development.
Leah Bullard Leah Bullard 6'1" | PF Dr Phillips | 2024 State FL (Faith Christian Academy / Hoop Dreams Elite) – 6’1 Wing
Barnes build is impressive. She is 6’0 wing who has broad shoulders, strong lower base and can play both the wing and forward spot. Her body and her strength is her key attributes that she needs to utilize as there are not many players that can match up with her that have a similar combination. She plays inside and out but her perimeter game is still something she is developing and like to see her go down low and post up vs smaller opponents more often.
