Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at the top Class of 2024 standouts from last weekend’s Blue Fish Shootout at Rolla High School.
(Rolla): The 5’10 wing guard used her length well on the defensive end to get deflections and pick a few pockets. She also displayed her nice shooting stroke from 3-point range. She also had a nice shot fake move to set up her drive to the basket.
(Marshfield): A 5’11 combo forward who displayed her overall skill set. She handled the ball well and also knocked down the open 3-pointer. She also moves well without the basketball to get herself open.
(Rolla): A 5’8 guard who was impressive in the victory over Marshfield with a game-high 20 points. Her drive game was strong as she could play through contact and score in traffic on nice scoop shots. She was also getting buckets on runners and 3-pointers
(St. James): A 5’6 point guard who is a good rebounder with her bounce and willingness to get the ball. Her court vision is very good as she was always looking upcourt to find a teammate. She was also knocking down 3-pointers from the wing.
Abbey McBride (Marshfield): A 5’8 guard who was impressive with her athleticism and activity. She was dropping dimes on the move, cutting to the basket and scoring on spin moves in the lane. She also blocked a few shots on defense.
(Rolla): A 5’7 guard who plays with a motor that never stops. She’s an effective slasher who stayed in attack mode whenever she had the ball. She has smooth handles and she can operate in tight spaces.
(St. James): A 5’10 forward who could attack the basket well and draw fouls and make her free throws. She could also handle the ball and pass it well. She was also effective on defense on the second line of the full court press.
Hannah Medlock (Licking): A 5’7 guard who displayed good court vision as she delivered a number of excellent passes. She also shot the 3-pointer well off the catch. Her defensive instincts were also very solid.
Sydney Hampton (Ozark): A 5’8 guard who was constantly on the move, whether she was driving to the basket or making off ball cuts. She finished well around the basket and she made some nice interior passes.
Jade Anderson (Capital City): A 5’10 forward who is a solid inside player with good athleticism. She is a good rebounder with a quick second jump around the basket. She sealed well in the post and displayed some nice moves inside.
Jordyn Thurman (Mexico): A 5’6 guard was very good defensively with her quick hands. She is also a solid ball handler who can distribute the ball.
