Class B Region 2 is nothing short from region 1. A few smaller schools, but the talent level equates. We’ll be covering who the starting 5 seniors would be for my squad in this region. Starting off the list we have…
Starting PG: – (5’5/PG/Thompson) – A quick, agile guard that can see the floor. Likes to run in the open court and doesn’t necessarily need the ball at all times. She’s crafty and has great poise. A solid guard that has yet to reach her true potential on the hard wood. Olivia is my go to pick in this region to run my offense.
Starting SG: – (5’9/CG/Grafton) – Mclain is a hooper! She’s the player that is going to go get you a bucket in clutch time. Doesn’t over due offensively and lets the game come to her. An offensively fluent guard that can play at all 3 levels and possesses great length for dealing with quicker guards defensively. This is an offensive pick for sure and I don’t think there’s a better player in the region at racking up points like Ainsley. She’s my pick for the 2 guard spot.
Starting SF: – (5’9/SG/Cavalier) – Rylen isn’t necessarily a 3, but for experimental purposes we’ll put her there. She’s strong, aggressive and attacks the hoop with purpose. Another guard that you can’t leave open or she’ll spray down a 3. Burgess is a great resource for this All-Senior Team. She’s got the capabilities to really stretch a defense out and since the most common defense in North Dakota Girls Ball is the 2-3 zone that’s just what my 3 guards will do. Burgess is my go to at the 3 spot for offensive efficiency and a defensive presence.
Starting PF: – (5’10/PF/Cavalier) – Eden is an overall brute. She’s no stranger to battling in the post and in fact most of her scoring comes from inside. An agile forward that has a good enough dribble to rip past a slower post from the high post or short corner. Eden has a great arsenal of post moves at her disposal to make her an offensive threat. She’s my pick at the 4 spot though for that defensive pressure and aggressive hunger she displays on the court. A dark horse pick with playing at the 4 spot.
Starting C: – (6’1/C/Grafton) – Another dark horse pick. We have playing the 5. A solid rebounder and with some added aggression we might have an absolute sleeper with Cole. I stated in a recent article with the removal of D1 committee , Keira has a lot of room to grow in her senior year. You don’t play with a talent like that and not pick up any skills for your own game. I expect Keira to be a nice sleeper on no ones radar this year. She’s my pick filling in at the 5 spot.
