Prep Girls Hoops Missouri continues its conference previews with a look at the Four Rivers Conference. St. James returns a solid nucleus from last year’s Class 4 Final Four team. Owensville, Hermann and Union also expect to have good seasons as well. This is an excellent area for girls’ basketball.
THE STARTING FIVE
(St. James): The 5’6″ 2024 guard did a little bit of everything in helping lead St. James to the Final Four last season. As a sophomore, she averaged 9.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.4 steals a game while shooting 40 percent from 3-point range.
Abby Peterson (Sullivan): The 5’11” 2023 UMSL recruit is a versatile wing player who can excel anywhere on the court with her height and skill level. As a junior, she averaged 16.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals a game while shooting 46 percent from the field.
Sophia Helling (Union): A talented 5’9″ 2025 guard who plays with a high motor at both ends of the court. As a freshman, she averaged 13.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.8 steals a game while shooting 35 percent from 3-point range in an impressive debut campaign.
(Owensville): A 5’7″ 2024 guard who returns after a big season in all facets of the game. As a sophomore, she averaged 12 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.7 steals while making 51 3-pointers.
Kelsey Brake (Union): A talented 2024 guard who is an excellent perimeter shooter and defensive player. As a sophomore, she averaged 13.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and four steals a game while making 47 3-pointers.
