Wisdom Anthony Wisdom Anthony CG Hobbs | 2023 State NM is arguably a top 10 talent but she is coming off a leg injury that kept her out the entire 21-22 season. If she returns to even 85% of what she was pre-injury, she can definitely vie for a spot atop the rankings by seasons end. Anthony is viewed as the missing piece for the Eagles to get them a State Championship. Hobbs has lost the last two State Championships to Volcano Vista; Is that about the change this year? Stay tuned!
Hornets Center Rebekah Carpenter Rebekah Carpenter 6’2″ | C Highland | 2023 State NM is a player under the radar that can have a breakout senior year. Carpenter is a massive presence standing at 6’2”, and has continued to work on her game, expanding her offensive repertoire. — She opened the regular season on 11/22 with a 13 point & 13 rebound game against Bernalillo.
Addy Offutt Addy Offutt 5’8″ | SF Animas | 2023 State NM was one of two Class A All-State 1st Team selections for Animas last season which helped them obtain and earn a #1 overall Seed in the State Tournament. Offutt returns as one of the leaders on a young panthers team who looks to redeem themselves in 2023 after a quarterfinal exit the year prior.
Isabelle Sena Isabelle Sena 5’3″ | PG Melrose | 2023 State NM was a Class A All-State 1st Team selection for Melrose HS which actually had three players total earn those honors in 21-22. Sena enters the 22-23 season being one of five seniors for the Buffaloes; They are looking to claim consecutive semifinal appearances in the Class A state Tournament.
The Escalante Lobos fell short of claiming a State title in 2022 after losing to the Clayton Yellowjackets 48-47 in the 2A State Tournament. In 2023 they are title favorites thanks to key pieces returning and keeping their core four intact. Members of that core include Katelyn Hinds Katelyn Hinds PG Escalante | 2023 State NM & Emma Maestas Emma Maestas SG Escalante | 2023 State NM who each earned 2nd Team All-State honors this past season.
