What I enjoyed was the stream didn’t have a lot of glitches and the teams had their rosters available online. I’ll be dropping stuff from bracket play as I’ll be at the event all day today, yeah I probably should be sleeping yet here I am and you can follow the bracket right here
Seven Lakes vs Pearland will be a monster as it features 2 of the top players in the country. Justice Carlton Justice Carlton 6'1" | PF Seven Lakes | 2024 State TX , PGH Texas’ #1 player in the 2024 class will be the go-to for Seven Lakes while RyLee Grays RyLee Grays 6'3" | PF The Village School | 2023 State #17 Nation TX who recently signed with North Carolina will go against her Cy Fair EYBL teammate in a game that will probably be decided by the role players so 10:30, I’ll be glued to their gym
Here’s what I caught last night
Clear Springs
Bria Jackson [2023]
Jackson is an athletic guard that attacks the basket multiple ways. She has a nice first step, she finishes strongly after contact and she also did a good job defensively, on the ball and she rebounded against taller players
Amiah Gray [2024]
Gray left no grey area, or GRAY area, as she did something off the top I love yet don’t see a whole lot and that was “followed her shot” so that in itself gives her #THROWBACK hashtag. She also attacked the basket powerfully and also showed she could take the lick
Alyssa Freeman [2023]
Freeman also attacked the basket from multiple spots and saw the floor on numerous occasions. She created her shot and handled the ball under pressure. Brianna Lordeus [2024] and Lauren Vasquez [2023] both showed they could get to the basket while Calea Trivitt [2023] went after everything off the rim and used her athleticism nicely
Shadow Creek
Kameryn Phillips Kameryn Phillips 5'8" | CG Shadow Creek | 2023 State TX [2023]
Phillips was zig-zagging by everyone and it was hard to get her number yet when I realized it was her, I just smiled. She’s a new addition to the squad, and she’s also one of the Top 100 players in Texas but her explosiveness in elementary school had me drop #D1Lock on her. Although unsigned, I was and still am right, she hurt a knee yet you’d never know and her stop-and-pop jumper is going to create some problems for defenders
Krislyn Biscette [2024]
Biscette is filled with so much energy and that, coupled with her athleticism forced numerous turnovers, either defending or playing the passing lane. On the flip, her acrobatic finishes were nice, and so was her pull-up jumper. Speaking of jumpers, Dazmine Gay [2025] got in the mix and showed she could drop it from deep
Kyndall Drones [2025]
Drones was a terror on the inside off the top and one more time, I love watching players go after the ball off the rim, it’s simple basketball. She has nice inside moves and showed she could face the basket and shoot it. I love the upside of Preston Young Preston Young 6'2" | C Shadow Creek | 2025 State TX [2025] because she’s long and athletic, which will always be the base, and she too went after rebounds numerous times
