The GRC campus is beautiful, and I always love going to the west side of the state. Not only is Grand Rapids home to some of the best basketball in the state, it is also home to my favorite soup shop: Uncle Cheetah’s. I was favored with sunshine, soup, and great hoops. The following kids caught my eye for being well rounded.
Patience is the key word for Aspen. She never rushes against pressure or for a nice pass, and she takes the right shot. She has the ability to hit in the midrange and can get to the rack. She has one of the better misdirection moves that I saw Wednesday.
Pace is a new quantity in Michigan, but she is well known from her native Texas. She transferred to Grand Rapids Christian last year but was derailed by a knee injury. I’m told that she holds an offer from Rice University. She can get her shot off the dribble any time that she wants, through the use of speed and through shimmy moves. She has a smooth pullup with nice lift. Can’t wait to see what she does in Michigan.
Reagan plays much older than her sophomore age. She is able to hound ball handlers and came up with some monster blocks. Her form from deep is solid, and the release is ultra quick. She is a willing passer that made some high level finds. She has a nose for the ball and has a toughness coaches love.

The Benton Harbor senior does a lot of everything for her team. She runs the top of the press and zone yet is often found protecting the rim. As the point guard, she showcases slick handles and is a willing passer. She put up good stats in rebounds, steals, points, and assists. The kid is a fantasy basketball must have.
The senior is a coach’s dream for her ability to play 1-5 on both sides of the ball. She has great patience around the block on her post moves and rebounds like crazy. Her ability with the ball in her hand also stands out.
