The Milwaukee Academy of Science guard is in an elite class. There are few kids who I’ve seen stay in front of her, and everyone knows she wants to get to the basket. She’s strong, quick, and creative around the rim. I’ve seen her shoot in the past and have no worries about her ability to shoot at the next level, but when someone is as good at getting to the basket as Ellis is, it’s hard to tell her to do anything else because she’s a willing passer.
I doubt you’ll find many more talented kids in the 2023 class in Wisconsin. When Waheed gets into a rhythm, there isn’t much that defenses can do to slow her down. She can score from all three levels and break her defender down in the halfcourt. Defensively, not many kids score on her because Waheed is an excellent athlete and has the length to contest anything. She’s a game-changer.
Imani Warren Imani Warren 5'8" | SF Rufus King | 2023 State WI
I got to see Warren for the first time last week, and to say I was impressed would be an understatement. She’s one of the best athletes in the 23 class, and Warren has some of the best body control you’ll find. Usually, kids have no problem playing fast, which catches the eye, but I loved how well Warren can slow down after going a thousand miles an hour. The Rufus King senior can score at all three levels and make some incredible effort plays. Even though the Generals were up early, Warren stayed engaged and dove on loose balls while up 30, which says a lot about her mentality.
Syderah Farmer Syderah Farmer 6'0" | SF Kenosha Bradford | 2023 State WI
If you tell me a six-foot athletic wing who shoots at a high clip is a kid that teams don’t want, I’ll call you a liar. Farmer is an intriguing kid because she’s a dynamic athlete who can make shots all over the floor. I believe Farmer can be an excellent 3&D player at the next level. You won’t find many kids her size with her skill. I expect Farmer to make a coaching staff at the next level very happy.
