I saw a ton of talented players and teams over the 4 day tournament, but here are some of the players that really stood out to me at the post position.
Filiatreau has great size inside. She posts hard and can finish really well around the basket. She can finish with contact at the rim or kick it out to one of her teammates. Filiatreau has a really good shot as well, so she’s able to extend the defense all the way out past the perimeter as she can knock down 3’s or mid-range jumpers. She’s a solid defender that moves her feet well and can come up with multiple blocks. She’s always a huge factor for Bethlehem and this tournament was no exception.
London Sweeney
London Sweeney
Sweeney was really impacting the game on both ends of the floor. Her defense was impressive as she used her length to constantly get her hands on the ball and to block shots. She was also doing a great job rebounding, crashing the boards strong. Sweeney was also making a lot happen offensively. She was knocking down outside shots, finishing floaters and layups, and creating for her teammates. Sweeney made some really nice passes throughout the tournament as well.
Durbin is Meade County’s main threat inside. She’s got great length and she’s been a really good finisher at the rim. She can post up, catch on the move, or score off of the dribble. Durbin can step out to knock down shots, including from 3. She made some excellent passes to her teammates as well. Defensively, she was disruptive around the basket. She uses her length to make things tough on the opposing team. Durbin continuously put up really solid numbers throughout the tournament.
Eubank has a lot of skills that you would want in your guards, so she can be a really tough match-up. The lefty has a great shot and strong handles. She has good shot fakes and she can get into the paint or to the rim. Eubank has a quick floater that she can turn to as well or she can knock down free throws when she draws the foul. Her versatility is impressive and she made some great passes using her court awareness.
Aubrey Randolph
Aubrey Randolph
Randolph is long and athletic. She was so disruptive defensively, getting into the passing lanes, blocking shots, and getting deflections. She rebounds well and showed a lot of skills offensively as well. She was knocking down pull-ups and floaters, elevating over defenders to avoid getting blocks, and she also was getting all the way to the rim. She made great passes when help defense stepped over. This was the first time I had gotten to see Randolph play, but I certainly hope it’s not the last because I was so impressed by what she brought to the court.
