Today, I’ll look back to Saturday around Wisconsin and highlight some individual performers around America’s Dairyland. There are four we’ll talk about today that specifically stand out.
Peyton Musial Peyton Musial 6'0" | SG Notre Dame | 2025 State WI
While I was in Minnesota watching an elite out-of-state matchup, Musial and the Tritons went down to Illinois to play an elite out-of-state matchup with Illinois’ 3A runner-up Nazareth Academy. In that game, Musial continued her excellent start to the season. The now sophomore scored 16 points in the win against a talented group and helped the Tritons run away with that game south of the state border.
Ellie Schiszik Ellie Schiszik 5'5" | PG Elk Mound | 2025 State WI
The Elk Mound guard helped avenge last season’s postseason loss to Altoona by scoring 22 points. Schiszik is an intriguing undersized guard who can score in bunches. She came onto the scene last season after posting some incredible shooting stats in singular games. This season, it’s all about improving the consistency of games like that, and beating the team who ended their season last year is a great place to start. If you don’t know her now, keep track of her, she’ll play some out-of-this-world games this season.
Sydney Ludvigsen
Union Grove is a team that doesn’t necessarily get the respect they deserve, even though they return a lot from a group that went to a sectional final a year ago. Ludvigsen was the player who helped the Broncos get by another sectional finalist a year ago, Oak Creek, by 14 points. Ludvigsen scored 20 points, grabbed five rebounds, and earned two assists in the win. Although they aren’t highlighted much in their part of the state, they are one of the most fun teams to watch play when at their best, which they were on Saturday.
Reese Rynberg Reese Rynberg 5'11" | PF Westosha Central | 2023 WI
I remember the first time I saw Rynberg in 2021 at the Top 250 event, and I loved how she used her length to defend around the basket, even though she isn’t that tall. On Saturday, she showed her ability to score the ball by leading the Falcons with 19 points in their win over Racine Horlick. She’s an under-the-radar kid who’s plenty of versatility and can do things on both ends of the floor. She’s a kid who I’d like to see this season to see how she’s progressed over the past year.
