Makenzie Luehring Makenzie Luehring 5'6" | PG Kettle Moraine Lutheran | 2025 State WI
We learned that Lehring could score in bunches last season and during this past summer. However, the Kettle Moraine Lutheran guard has taken that to another level this season. Luehring has a few 40-point games against solid teams and has led the Chargers in scoring again this season. Whenever Luehring finds space on the perimeter, you can feel the defense hold their breath when her shot goes up because her opposition has that much respect for her. I love her confidence and wouldn’t be surprised if the Chargers surprised some people this season.
Amanda Heusterburg
I found out who Huesterberg was last season, and she continued to do what made her stand out last season. She’s a good rebounder and can shoot the ball at a high level, and with her six-foot size, she stands out for those two abilities in particular. The six-foot wing can battle in the paint, knock down jumpers and handle the ball. Not much more you could ask of her. If the junior wants to play at the next level, she’ll be a steal.
I think it’s safe to say the people who’ve seen West play know she’s talented. However, what she’s done this year has been jaw-dropping. The La Follette guard is currently leading the state in scoring (34 PPG) and rebounding (19.4), those numbers alone are insane, but she’s helped make her teammates better and keep the Lancers competitive. I can’t overstate what she’s done enough West has been the most impactful player on the floor, and her numbers, effort, and personality help her get the most out of herself and her teammates. She’s been otherworldly.
Erin Knowles Erin Knowles 6'1" | CG Boscobel | 2024 State WI
I love rummaging for box scores, live streams, and highlights because of kids like this. Knowles is a 6-foot-1 guard from Boscobel. She’s 0.2 rebounds away from leading her team in scoring, rebounds, and assists. Although her shooting numbers may not look great, a lot of that is her environment. If I had to guess, if she got nothing but wide-open 3-pointers, she’d be a mid-30s-low 40s shooter from behind the arc. You won’t find many 6-foot-1 natural lead guards who can get in the paint and finish with both hands. There’s no question that if she played AAU this summer, she’d catch the eyes of plenty of coaches and probably will if she never plays AAU. I love her game, and Knowles is a true hidden gem in Wisconsin.
