She can bring the ball up the floor and attack the basket – drawing contact on many occasions allowing her to get to the line for easy points. But, she can also square up to the basket and knock down some shots; if Landrey can become more confident and more consistent with her mid range, she will be a huge threat on the offensive end. When it comes to defense, she played on ball and Landrey’s length caused many deflections and uncomfortable situations for the other teams ball handlers. Landrey had some help in the season opener from Rees Nguyen who finished the game with 17 points. If Landrey can continue to get help from her teammates, she has the potential to lead Cascia Hall to many victories.
Brie Smith Brie Smith 5'11" | PF Collinsville | 2024 State OK 2024 – Collinsville: Brie got into foul trouble early against Bishop Kelley but once she got back into the game, her presence was felt. She is an all-around basketball player & she seems to have a true passion for the game which is portrayed through the way that she plays. She shoots the ball well but seems to hesitate at times when she shouldn’t – giving the defense time to play up on her; Brie needs to trust her shooting ability and once she does, the sky will be the limit for her.
Abbey Stamper 2023 – Collinsville: Abbey is a poised guard who can push the ball all 94 feet and finish at the rim. She doesn’t get rattled when being pressured by the defense and slices between defender well. Abbey definitely uses her body and was out rebounding some of the taller players. On defense, she is locked in and moves well laterally. Abbey is fundamentally sound; she is intense and seems to take every possession seriously which is what made her stand out from the other 9 players on the court.
Kate Klimisch Kate Klimisch 5'6" | PG Bishop Kelley | 2025 State OK 2025 – Bishop Kelley: Kate is a true point guard who sees the floor well and passes with efficiency. Kate was the smallest player on the floor but she played with heart. She attacked the basket with a level of confidence that you don’t see in a lot of smaller guards. One aspect of Kate’s game that stood out to me was the way she played help side defense and her ability to squeeze the gap. She didn’t lose steam throughout the game and kept a high level of energy on the court as well as when she was cheering for her teammates from the bench. Kate is a player to keep an eye on as the season moves forward. It may be a little early for anything concrete but she may just be the x-factor that Bishop Kelley needs to make a dominant run this year.
Adyson Roberts Adyson Roberts 5'8" | PG Lincoln Christian | 2023 State OK 2023 & Ellie Brueggemann Ellie Brueggemann 5'11" | SG Lincoln Christian | 2023 State OK 2023 – Lincoln Christian: Adyson & Ellie are elite – that one word about sums it up for these two; they can dribble, they can break down defenses, they can shoot the ball with efficiency, they can attack the basket and finish at the rim, they can play lock down defense and they cheer for their teammates! But, more than just Adyson & Ellie, the whole Lincoln Christian team is good, very good! As you watch these girls play, each player is disciplined and passionate; and, this says a lot about how Coach Stewart runs her program because it wasn’t just the players that were passionate, you could see it in the coaches as well – they expect greatness from each player and this was shown throughout the game as with each time out or a player getting subbed out, one of the coaches were showing and teaching the players how to play the game more productively and successfully.
