Ti’Ye Davis Ti’Ye Davis 5'3" | PG C.E. King | 2023 TX -5’6 PG (CE King) 2023
Davis used her athleticism on both ends, whether it was attacking the basket off the dribble to get the rim or playing solid defense. She also dove on the floor for loose balls but her court vision and controlling the tempo were nice
Nikevia Maxie -5’2 SG (CE King) 2023
Maxie also used her athleticism on both ends but her OTB, on the ball, pressure was huge. She falls into the #sizedontmatter category because she didn’t back down at any time, and scored off the dribble using a nice first step, but she also showed quick hands and came away with steals
Dalanna Carter Dalanna Carter 5'6" | PG Barbers Hill | 2023 State #30 Nation TX -5’6 CG (Barbers Hill) 2023
Carter continues to show she understands how to take over games offensively. Mid to long-range as well as off the dribble, she is hard to handle and when you factor in her “body control” and ability to create contact, she’s hard to contain, especially when you factor in she sees the floor
Jo Trevino-5’5 SG (Barbers Hill) 2023
Trevino got her team rolling early as she was on fire from mid to long-range. Her stepback 3 JUST DID IT for me as I rewound the tape yet she also did a good job distributing the ball, either off the dribble or in the set, but she also scored attacking the basket
Branasia Brazelton-5’4 CG (North Shore) 2023
Brazelton’s defense was smothering, I guess that’s a good word, as she manned up baseline to baseline and forced players into traps as well as picking up their dribble. Her tenacity didn’t stop there as she dove on the floor several times for loose balls
Cynthia Lecompte Cynthia Lecompte 5'9" | PG Barbers Hill | 2024 State TX -5’8 SG/SF (Barbers Hill) 2024
Lecompte is “long and athletic” and please remember that is the base. I love watching her play the passing lane, as well as handle the ball in the open court as she scores going all the way. She also scored in the set, using a powerful first step as well as dropping the jumper
Emori LaSalle-5’7 SG (Crosby) 2024
LaSalle was a scoring machine and her acrobatic layups, including after contact, were very nice. She has good body control, she doesn’t force shots yet she found ways to put the ball into the basket. Her jumper was also nice, she read the floor and came with steals both playing the passing lane and using her hands “on the ball”
Lamaya Clark-5’9 PF/C (Crosby) 2025
Clark was solid around the paint, she rebounded strongly on both ends and also ran the floor, on both ends. I guess her interior defense needs to be mentioned as she showed good lateral movement yet she also defended outside the paint
Kynlee Kejonen-6’0 C (Barbers Hill)
Kejonen continues to impress me with her progression as the “hand sand footwork” keeps getting better as well as her finishing around the basket. She also finished after the lick, plus she rebound on both ends of the court
