#11 Jules LaMendola Jules LaMendola 5'10" | SF Coppell | 2023 State TX -5’10 SF (Coppell) Indiana
Up from #27
LaMendolo sold me years ago playing for an INDEPENDENT who actually tried to hide her yet if you know what you’re looking at, that will never work. I love her BB-IQ, comprehension of the game ALWAYS gets the #THROWBACK hashtag. She can score off the dribble, from mid to long range and around the basket, including putbacks, yes she rebounds on both ends. What I love even more is that she can play multiple positions, which will translate quickly at the next level
#21 Kelly Mora Kelly Mora 6'1" | C Monterrey | 2023 State TX -6’1 C (Monterrey) Texas Tech
Up from #29
Mora is a terror under the basket, she always has been yet her agility kept progression as she not only can handle the ball after rebounding and go coast to coast to finish but she can also pull-up and take the jumper. Her court vision in the open court was nice, it was also effective in the set, and watching her take the defender off the dribble and finish strongly after contact included. Her interior defense is solid, she also can step outside of the paint and “man up”
#22 Kameryn Phillips Kameryn Phillips 5'8" | CG Shadow Creek | 2023 State TX -5’8 CG (Shadow Creek)
Up from #31
Phillips has been one of my favorites since elementary school and since I have a gift of knowing what is going to happen at an early age, she was easy. The problem is a string of injuries is why she isn’t on a lot of radars yet I will always stay ZONED in no matter what. She’s one of the most explosive guards in Texas, off the dribble or off the ground to drop jumpers but wait, she also elevates over taller players to rebound. She handles the ball under pressure, she sees the floor, and her “on the ball” defense is smothering. Oh yeah, she plays the passing lane
#23 Shanel Reid Shanel Reid 5'10" | SF Austin | 2023 State TX -5’10 SF (Austin High) SMU
Up from #27
Reid smoothly sets the defender up to attack the basket or drop the jumper and her being able to create under pressure is something else. She also knocks down shots with a hand in her face, mid to long range but her ability to score down the stretch in tight situations is an added bonus. She rebounds on both ends, handles the ball in the open court, and does a good job seeing the floor
#29 Avari Berry Avari Berry 5'7" | PG Pfugerville | 2023 State TX -5’7 PG (Pflugerville)
Up from #32
Berry is one of the top UNSIGNED players in Texas and since the Super Bowl is around the corner, NFL, not for long. Her ability to run a team is second to none, she’s heady as well as unselfish and she understands the importance of setting her teammates up for shot opportunities. Don’t get it twisted, she can take over a game in the blink of an eye, her mid to long range is more than solid, in fact, I saw her dropping the long ball in the 3rd grade. Another huge plus is her deceptive first step to attack the basket, and that, combined with her body control, gets her acrobatic finishes
#35 Raimi McCrary Raimi McCrary 6'0" | PF Allen | 2023 State TX -6’0 PF (Allen) Incarnate Word
Up from #41
McCrary is powerful around the basket, in fact, she can punish defenders and score with them literally hanging on her. She rebounds, on both ends, scores on putbacks as well as facing the basket yet she also does a good job dropping the midrange. She can handle the ball in the open court and drop the three, just like that, with the stop and pop and she has good court vision
