With the first part of a two-part series about underrated prospects/stock risers done, let’s finish things up in this article.
Ava Comer Ava Comer 5'4" | SG Mahwah | 2026 State NJ – Mahwah (2026)
Comer is the second-leading scorer for Mahwah this season and for good reason. Her blend of interior scoring flare with a great outside shot has made her an adequate dual threat as a freshman. An impressive overall build and great recent results, including a career-high 15-point performance against Westwood.
Emily McKegney – Glen Rock (2025)
McKegney has seen her production rise significantly this season for Glen Rock, averaging 5.3 PPG compared to just 1.7 PPG last season. Roughly a third of her scoring has come from the foul line where she’s 28-of-40 this season. An aggressive player who plays to get in the middle and make moves.
Yasmeen Brightwell – Lodi Immaculate (2023)
A new face on a new team, Brightwell transferred from Paramus Catholic and has quickly made an impact for Lodi this season, a strong rebounder with the ability to shoot and score as well. She’s been part of a primary six-person rotation used this season.
Sophie Haines – Paramus Catholic (2026)
We’ve seen an impressive showing from Haines this season with Paramus Catholic, one of the better perimeter shooters from this freshman class in the county and region. Haines found consistency in recent games and is hitting threes on a more constant basis, a great sign moving forward.
Gabriella Mittleman – Demarest (2026)
Wasting no time to make an impact in her freshman year, Mittleman is putting up consideration for being one of the best freshmen in the state. Averaging nearly 12.0 PPG and hitting around two 3-pointers a game, she’s found space on the floor and is executing flawlessly.
Celeste Harper Celeste Harper 5'7" | PG Holy Angels | 2024 State NJ – Holy Angels (2024)
Harper’s breakout season was coming with Holy Angels and we’ve finally seen the results of her hard-work, a fantastic junior season ongoing as one of the better passers in the area. Most won’t talk about that, but she’s now averaging a career-high 2.8 assists a game and let’s not overlook some impressive defensive play either.
Sophia Doto – Cresskill (2024)
Doto, sister of teammate Angelina, is putting up a great battle to see what Doto sister will have the better season. A much-improved defensive player, Doto is grabbing more rebounds, blocking more shots and just being more active defensively. That aggression has helped out with her offense, currently scoring four points a game.
Erin Gashler Erin Gashler SF Westwood | 2025 State NJ – Westwood (2025)
It’s night and day watching her progression as a player for Westwood this season, needing that year under her belt to really begin to develop as a player. Confidence goes a long way and she’s playing with confidence right now on both sides of the ball. Can cut well into the lane and plays strong around the rim. Knows how to rebound and box out well also.
