2023 – Locust Grove: Bailey is an aggressive guard with extensive range and a true knowledge of the game. Wiggins shoots at a high percentage and she is extraordinary at creating shots. She is very skilled on the offensive end – scoring from just about anywhere but her defense is equally impressive. Wiggins rebounds the ball well and makes solid stops around the perimeter. Bailey has a good energy when playing and does a great job of keeping her teammates motivated.
Tatum Stokes 2026 – Locust Grove: Tatum has been a consistent player on both days of the tournament. She is an important piece to the Locust Grove team as she is a force on both ends of the floor. Stokes shoots the ball with confidence and with accuracy. She is aggressive when driving to the basket and has a nice touch once she gets to the rim. Tatum does a great job of finding the holes in the defense which allows her to get open looks at the basket. Defensively, she is solid and does well applying pressure without fouling. Tatum is a player with a high ceiling & it will be exciting to watch her growth in the next 3 years.
Josie Gunn 2023 – East Newton: Josie is a solid guard with a high motor. She does a great job of handling the ball under pressure and has a certainty in her demeanor when shooting. Gunn is not the tallest player on the floor but she has a toughness about her when she is attacking the rim and going in for rebounds. She plays solid defense both on and off the ball. She showed good body language even when the game was not going in her or her teams favor – this was a huge aspect that set her apart from the rest of the players on the floor.

2024 – Grove: Elliot is a special player because she does all the little things that make her team better. She is the player that you may not see on the stat sheet but is the player that makes a huge contribution to her teams success. Geer is a facilitator – she sets up the offense, gets the other players on her team open when she doesn’t have the ball, controls the pace of the game and stays encouraging her teammates. She was the first to congratulate her teammates on a good play and the first one to run over to help a teammate up off the floor. Geer is a great team leader and this was evident whenever she was on the court as well as when she was on the bench.
Kate Roller 2026 – Cascia Hall: Kate had quite the game on day two of the Jay tournament. She was aggressive both offensively and defensively – making a number of stops/deflections, gathering a handful of boards and scoring a game high 14 points. Roller had a good feel for where she was in the paint which allowed her to get the defender behind her and go up for the easy 2; she did a good job of initiating contact on a few put backs and got to the line. Kate doesn’t have much varsity experience but with some additional training and more game experience, she has the potential to be a solid ball player.
