Ireland Jones (Clever): The 2024 point guard is one of the top floor generals in the SWMO area. She handles the balance of being a facilitator and scorer very well. She knocks down 3-pointers and she’s capable of going inside and scoring in the post. She makes others around her better.
Hallie Fender (Spokane): A 2023 point guard with good size and an overall feel for the game. She’s a good athlete who uses her strength to minimize defensive pressure on the dribble. She can get downhill and score on the drive with either hand. She can also thread the needle by zipping a pass through traffic.
Brylie Hicks (Clever): A 2024 guard who uses her speed and quickness to impact a game at both ends of the court. I like how she can change speeds. She can lull a defender, then accelerate with a quick burst to get to the basket. She is an excellent passer as well.
Lucy Newberry (Marionville): A 5’9 2024 guard who is an excellent combination scorer/playmaker. She was impressive in scoring 28 points in the Comets victory over Crane in the third place game. She has good court vision, an overall feel for the game and her step back jumper was nice.
Jayleigh Flood (Clever): A 5’9″ 2024 forward who does a solid job of scoring around the basket. She does a good job of using her body to create contact and shield defenders from the ball when she is in the lane. She also scored on a couple of impressive moves in the post. She can also handle the ball when needed as she went coast to coast for a layup after getting a rebound.
Sydney Bryan (Spokane): A 5’7″ 2024 guard who can really shoot the ball from 3-point territory. She has a quick release and she will let it fly from deep range. She is also a solid rebounder and ball handler.
Bailie McClanahan (Clever): A 5’8″ 2024 forward who earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team with her solid play. She is capable of knocking down the 3-pointer when she has the time and space. She was also rebounding well in traffic.
