I got an assist from a parent of who Chrishawn Coleman-5’9 G/F and Kamryn Wilson Kamryn Wilson 5'9" | CG Mansfield Timberview | 2024 State TX -5’8 CG were and I truly appreciate that as my plans were to go back and catch the game yet it disappeared. Here are the juniors I caught live
Jada Graves Jada Graves 5'4" | PG Amarillo | 2024 State TX -5’3 PG (Amarillo)
Graves left me speechless on my initial sighting yet I haven’t stopped talking about the talented point guard because she has elevated her game each time I’ve caught her since that first time. First is a good word because her first step is a huge plus as it enables her to get wherever she wants but her attacking the basket to score or dish, very good court vision, doesn’t scratch the surface because she defends, takes charges, and her 3 in the clutch JUST DID IT for me
Taytum Bell Taytum Bell 5'10" | SG Amarillo | 2024 State TX -5’11 G/F (Amarillo)
Bell as in “ring my” will be added to the Top 100 but her being long and athletic, which is the base, plays a small part in it but her intangibles solidify what I see. She scores off the dribble, long strides coupled with a deceptive first step as well as finishes strongly after contact was nice, and so was her elevating over defenders not only off the dribble but from DEEP. Her “on the ball” defense was equally impressive
Victoria Barrera Victoria Barrera 5'9" | CG Amarillo | 2024 State TX -5’8 G/F (Amarillo)
Barrera smoothly gets hers in the flow yet her playing under control. on both ends. and coming up with huge plays to change the momentum was nice. She sets the defender up off the dribble to attack the basket, she also drops the pull-up jumper with a hand in her face but her defense as well as rebounding was also nice
Kennedy Evans Kennedy Evans 5'11" | SG Legion Prep Academy | 2024 State TX -5’10 SG (Denton Braswell)
Evans’ mom hit me up when she was in elementary school while I was covering a tournament in Dallas and she told me there was an abundance of “babies” that were going to play ball in college I needed to see. She was right, and her BABY, left me stunned as she was dropping NBA range jumpers even back. Her mid to long-range shooting was on full display, as well as her scoring off the dribble
Yves Cox Yves Cox 6'3" | C Link Year | 2024 MO -6’3 F/C (Denton Braswell)
Cox is also “long and athletic” plus she stands 75 inches with an impressive wingspan. Her hands and footwork enabled her to score around the basket with ease but she also scored facing the basket, as well as on putbacks, yes she rebounded on both ends. Equally impressive was her timing as she blocked, altered, and (or) deflected shots
Madison Griggs Madison Griggs 5'10" | SF Mansfield Legacy | 2024 State TX -5’8 G (Mansfield Legacy)
Griggs showed the mid to long-range during club season so I wasn’t surprised to see it during the event. She understands how to create her shot under pressure, this included attacking the basket and finishing after the lick. Her taking the defender going baseline was also a plus and her “catch and shoot” looked good from outside. She also rebounded on both ends
Erica Carr-6’3 C (South Grand Prairie)
Carr did a good job on the inside showing nice moves which enabled her to finish. She also rebounded on both ends, scored on putbacks, and played solid defense in the paint. Her passing and seeing the floor from the post position was also nice
Nicolette Polocheck Nicolette Polocheck 6'0" | PF Memorial | 2024 State TX -6’0 G/F (Spring Branch Memorial)
Polocheck’s adding a variety of ways to get to the basket is making her even “harder to check” pun intended. The midrange is a huge plus because she can attack using either hand and her powerful finishes, many times off balance and after contact tells you how strong she is. If that doesn’t, her rebounding on both ends and scoring on putbacks, many times with players literally hanging on her should
