In this article, we look back at a few special performances over the holiday break and some of the top performances as the second half of the season is in full throttle.
Beckham Hockley Beckham Hockley 5'7" | PG Sickles | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 5’7′ PG / Sickles High School
Hockley lit it up over the holiday break and has continued her stellar at the start of the second half of the season. If there is one thing the junior guard can do, it’s put the ball in the basket. She recently posted a 33-point game and accounted for another 7 buckets on assists. Hockley can attack the basket from the left or right side of the court, she can shoot the midrange jumper, and she can knock down the long ball. Also impressive is her ability to shoot off the catch and off of the dribble. In a recent two-game stretch, Hockley has knocked down 9 threes. Defensively, Hockley gets a lot of steals and can instantly turn those into scoring opportunities. Hockley is tearing it up and showing why she is ranked in the top 25 in the Junior class. She is also in the running for Hillborough player of the year and is making a strong case for the honor.
London Jenkins London Jenkins 5'4" | PG Fleming Island | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 5’6 PG / Fleming Island
A word for the State of Florida. London Jenkins London Jenkins 5'4" | PG Fleming Island | 2024 State FL is getting better and better. She already has the scoring down pat, but she is now becoming a more efficient scorer. Also, her ability to create shots for others has really been impressive. In two games this past week, the junior averaged over 30 points per game and looked dominant against some very good players. Jenkins can drive the ball to the basket, dominate in the transition game, shoot the midrange, and score from behind the arc. All of these traits are predicated on her blazing speed. Defensively, Jenkins can really steal the ball. She plays very good on-ball defense and she gets a lot of steals in the passing lanes due to her explosive first step.
Clare Coyle Clare Coyle 6'1" | PF Bishop Kenny | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 6’1 PF / Bishop Kenny
Coyle had a very good outing this past week. She averaged 15 points per game and took the double-double reference to a new level with a 15-point – 21 rebound performance against Mainland. Coyle is one of the best rebounders around and runs the floor like a guard.
Maya Richards Maya Richards 5'9" | SG Ponte Vedra | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 5’9 SG / Ponte Vedra
Richards had a solid week as the second half of the season is underway. This post is to recognize her solid play over the holiday period a few weeks ago. Richards earned “All – Tournament ” honors in the Jim Clark tournament and turned heads for her hustle and all-out effort she plays with on the court. Richards is a defensive standout, but she also showed she can score as well, scoring 15 points in one of the tournament games.
Alana Seward Alana Seward 5'6" | CG Eustis | 2024 State FL / 2024 / 5’6 SG / Eustis
Seward also was a standout during the Holiday break with a 16-point performance and an incredible 26-point – 9 rebound performance in the same week. Seward has the all-around game and has shown that she can score on all levels of the court. She also plays with a different gear and her on-court speed is one of her greatest assets.
