Sectional #57 at Bloomfield:
Game-1: North Central (Farmersburg) (17-5) vs. Shakamak (13-8)
Game-2: Bloomfield (10-14) vs. Bloomington Lighthouse Christian (8-15)
Game-3: White River Valley (9-13) vs. Clay City (6-17)
Game-4: Dugger Union (8-13) vs. Winner Game-1
Game-5: Winner Game-2 vs. Winner Game-3
Game-6: Winner Game-4 vs. Winner Game-5
Overview: In this Sectional field, there are four or five teams who could vie for the title come Saturday night. North Central put together the best regular season behind a strong Sophomore class, and they should have at least another couple of strong years ahead of them as well. They were 6-0 against Sectional #57 competition, however they survived Bloomfield by just three points, and they had 12-point victories over both Clay City and White River Valley, so they are within striking distance. Still, though, Sophomores Jalyn Davidson Jalyn Davidson 5'10" | SG North Central | 2025 State IN (17.3p, 3.4r, 5.1a, 2.6s), Shelby Seay (12.8p, 5.6r, 4.3a, 3.1s), and Samantha Secrest (11.5p, 5.8r, 2.6s) are a tough trio to overcome, especially when they’re all playing well. Bloomfield is always a tough “out”. They are well-coached, and they are tough defensively. Seniors Delaney Richardson and Brianna Bucher each have multiple years of Varsity experience as well. Clay City, White River Valley, and Shakamak don’t really have that high-scoring standout, but as teams they compete well together, and any of the three can beat anyone in Sectional #57 on any given night. Also keep an eye on Junior Abigail Rousey (15.9p, 11.4r), as she is a double-double machine each time out.
Sectional #57 Players to Watch:
Bloomfield – Delaney Richardson, 2023
Bloomfield – Brianna Bucher, 2023
Bloomington Lighthouse – Abigail Rousey, 2024 – 15.9p, 11.4r
Clay City – Shaylee Evans, 2023 – 8.0p, 2.7r, 2.0s

Sectional #58 at Bethesda Christian:
Game-1: Indiana Math & Science (14-10) vs. Traders Point Christian (4-10)
Game-2: Bethesda Christian (10-13) vs. Indiana School for the Deaf (11-8)
Game-3: Winner Game-1 vs. Winner Game-2
Overview: Bethesda Christian has been strong over the last few years, and while they are just 10-13, they played a majority of their season without Junior Kenzie Fulks Kenzie Fulks 5'7" | PG Bethesda Christian | 2024 State IN (9.2p, 2.7a, 2.3s) who injured her knee back in July. She was a 22.5 point per game scorer a year ago, and she has just played a handful of games recently, so as she continues to return to form, she and they will only get stronger. In the meantime, Senior Paige Vawter (10.1p, 5.7r, 2.7a), Junior Sydney Goodin (9.8p, 5.5r, 2.1a), and others have played well and kept things rolling. I’d look for the Lady Patriots to make a run this postseason. The Indiana School for the Deaf recently won the Clerc Classic, the National tournament for deaf schools around the country. Junior Sophia Wascher (13.2p, 10.2r, 2.2s) and Senior Seanna Baird (12.4p, 4.2r, 2.6a, 3.9s) are both double-digit scorers for the Deaf Hoosiers. Also keep an eye on Indiana Math & Science, as they’ve put together a winning record as well. Senior Jalynn Webb (11.7p, 3.8r, 2.3a, 6.1s) leads the way for the Lady Knights.

Sectional #59 at Eminence:
Game-1: Greenwood Christian (4-18) vs. Tindley Accelerated (11-9)
Game-2: Indianapolis Lutheran (5-17) vs. Eminence (15-6)
Game-3: Central Christian (6-11) vs. Winner Game-1
Game-4: Winner Game-2 vs. Winner Game-3
Overview: Only Eminence and Tindley posted winning records this season, and I’d lean towards one of them to win the Sectional #59 crown. Eminence found a budding star this year in Sophomore Sophia Saucerman Sophia Saucerman 6'1" | C Eminence | 2025 IN (11.9p, 8.5r). She is long, bouncy, and somewhat skilled facing the basket as well. Juniors Natalie Hubbard Natalie Hubbard 5'9" | SF Eminence | 2024 IN (10.1p, 8.0r, 2.2a, 2.6s) and Danica Myers (9.6p, 4.6r, 3.6a, 2.4s) are in their third year of Varsity action, and both have a great deal of big-game experience. Tindley received a strong season from Junior Alilyona McKeller Alilyona McKeller 5'7" | SF Arsenal Technical | 2024 IN (12.9p, 7.4r, 2.9s). She is a double-double threat most nights. Freshman Taylor Cotham (9.2p, 4.8r, 3.8a, 3.1s) is an impressive rookie to keep an eye on for the Tigers. Other nice players in this Sectional include Junior Trinity Foerster Trinity Foerster 5'6" | SF Herron | 2024 IN of Central Christian, Junior Sydney Waldron of Greenwood Christian, and Junior Caitlyn Brooks (15.3p, 2.2r, 2.5a, 3.6s) of Indianapolis Lutheran.

Sectional #60 at Southwestern (Shelbyville):
Game-1: Waldron (5-17) vs. Jac-Cen-Del (12-11)
Game-2: Oldenburg Academy (11-9) vs. South Decatur (7-14)
Game-3: Morristown (12-10) vs. Edinburgh (6-17)
Game-4: Southwestern (Shelbyville) (6-16) vs. Winner Game-1
Game-5: Winner Game-2 vs. Winner Game-3
Game-6: Winner Game-4 vs. Winner Game-5
Overview: Waldron was 24-2 a year ago and made it to the Semi-State round, but they suffered major graduation losses in June of 2022. With the exception of last year, Jac-Cen-Del has typically been the team to beat here, and they are again solid. They are very disciplined and skilled, and they always seem to have multiple kids who can get it done. Juniors Reagan Hughes (13.0p, 2.7r, 2.6s) and Julia Meyer Julia Meyer 5'10" | SF Jac-Cen-Del | 2024 State IN (12.7p, 6.4r, 3.4a, 2.5s) lead the Lady Eagles this season. They are 5-0 against Sectional #60 competition, but they have yet to face off against Morristown. Speaking of Morristown, they roster high-scoring Sophomore Nevaeh Sanders Nevaeh Sanders 5'8" | SF Morristown | 2025 IN (19.8p, 3.2r, 3.2s), along with fellow Sophomore Danika Rutledge (12.5p, 7.5r, 2.7s), and steady Senior point guard Raegan Kleine (12.4p, 5.3r, 2.9a, 3.6s). Another team wanting to throw their hat in the ring is the Oldenburg Academy. They have a balanced team approach, and they can score a little inside and out. One thing is for sure…nothing will be certain in Sectional #60 until the final game has concluded.
