Some of these players will continue there hardwood careers at the next level, in this article we’ll focus on spotlighting some of the top talent still on the board for all you college coaches and avid readers that want to know where your favorite North Dakota athlete is at in the recruiting process.
Peyton Neumiller Peyton Neumiller 5'10" | SG Bismarck High | 2023 State ND – Peyton is 5’10 combo guard with all the tools to be successful. 2 way slasher, dime passer, formidable athlete and cookie monster. She’s gifted on both ends of the court currently averaging 4.5 rebounds and nearly 3.5 steals a game… Maybe “gifted” isn’t a big enough word to describe this athlete, but she’s got the resources to build something special with a lucky program that lands her. She’s without a doubt a D2 level athlete, but I could see a high level JUCO or NAIA being lucky enough to land this stud.
Harys Beauchamp Harys Beauchamp 6'0" | PF Beulah | 2023 State ND – Beauchamp is a 6′ PF that can move like a guard. She’s quick, versatile and athletically gifted. She’s got great touch around the rim for contested layups and uses her strength to her advantage in finishing through contact. With advanced ball handling skills she’s a threat from 15ft out being able to put the ball on the floor with great composure. Did I mention she’s an all-region player with state candidacy? A packaged athlete that will make for a good home at a solid NAIA institution.
Mykendra Messer Mykendra Messer 5'10" | SF St. Mary’s | 2023 State ND – Messer is an underated player that flies just under the radar sometimes. A 3 point specialist that thrives in hitting open shots. She’s got great footwork for getting open and a key player for a tough Bismarck St. Mary’s squad. Messer is averaging just over 11 points a game shooting 46% from the field and 71% from the charity strike. Don’t focus just on her offensive stats alone because she plays both ends of the court averaging just over 2 steals a game. A hidden gem that will make an excellent addition to a team in need of a sniper.
Hailey Quam Hailey Quam 5'11" | SF Shiloh Christian | 2023 State ND – Everyone knows hit the Quam and if you don’t then you haven’t been paying attention to high school girls basketball in North Dakota. Shiloh Christian standout and top scorer for the Skyhawks has been burning through this season with one purpose, and that’s a state title. Averaging 17.4 points and 7.6 rebounds a game while shooting 75% from the charity strike it’s hard to not take notice of this dual threat. An extremely talented athlete that without a doubt could play D2 basketball might wind up at a solid NAIA institution that could further mold her into an All-American powerhouse.
Kennedy Harter Kennedy Harter 6'0" | PF Kidder County | 2023 State ND – Harter is a player that I’ve covered a lot throughout my prep hoops career and a player that I’m going to miss covering after her graduation. A solid overall player that is the full package. She’s got numerous NAIA offers and is going to be a steal at that level of play. A smart, confident player that leads by example and knows how to win. She’s got a lot of fight in her and is going to be an NAIA All-American one day given her talented natural ability to see the court for what it is.
I’d like to wrap this segment up by saying good luck to all the athletes in the class of 23′ and congratulations on all your success. May the hardwood be as kind to you at the next level as it has been at this one.
