Torie Neubauer
In all honesty, I didn’t know much about Neubauer going into this season, but I love who she is as a player. Athletic 6-foot forwards who run the floor, defend, rebound, and shoot, are highly coveted for a reason. Neubauer helps Appleton East play at this up-tempo pace, which makes them a sneaky sectional pick, because they have all the skill and athleticism in the backcourt, and pairing that with a kid like Neubauer makes the Patriots dangerous.
MiKayla Werner MiKayla Werner 6'0" | PF Hortonville | 2024 State WI
There isn’t a kid who’s more underappreciated than MiKayla Werner MiKayla Werner 6'0" | PF Hortonville | 2024 State WI . In high school and AAU, she plays with some of the most talented kids in Wisconsin, but what she does is what makes her team successful. Yes, playing with elite talent is a way to win games, but Werner takes good teams and makes them into groups competing for titles. Werner is an athletic six-foot wing/forward who shoots it at a good clip, defends all five positions, and rebounds as well as anyone in Wisconsin. She’ll contribute to high-level basketball when she gets to college.
Lila Posthuma Lila Posthuma 6'1" | SF Prescott | 2024 State WI
In D3, Prescott isn’t talked about because it might as well be a suburb of the Twin Cities, and most people can’t/won’t make the time to see them play. However, you won’t find many more dynamic wings than Lila Posthuma Lila Posthuma 6'1" | SF Prescott | 2024 State WI . The junior is a point forward and isn’t shy about firing an absurd pass at any second, and she can score in any way imaginable. There isn’t a kid I want to see at the Resch Center more than Posthuma because the entire state should see what she brings to the table. The Cardinals are also better than people think.
Sydney Whitehouse Sydney Whitehouse 5'9" | SF Green Bay Notre Dame | 2024 State WI
If you want to talk about underappreciated around Wisconsin, look no further than Sydney Whitehouse Sydney Whitehouse 5'9" | SF Green Bay Notre Dame | 2024 State WI . If you’d like to see a program appreciate what a kid brings, look no further than what the coaches, parents, and players say about Sydney Whitehouse Sydney Whitehouse 5'9" | SF Green Bay Notre Dame | 2024 State WI . The junior is an elite defender and will blanket the opposing team’s best guard or wing for 36 minutes and bully ball kids on the offensive end. Not only can she defend at an elite, but she’s gotten better on the offensive end and can win a game or two late in the season for this team if she has to.
