Prep Girls Hoops Florida scout Ross Van De Griek is on the grounds of the RP Funding Center in Lakeland all week long. Here are his standouts from the early session of Day 1.
The Florida Atlantic University commit was all over the floor on both ends, whether it was her scoring or getting steals which turned into baskets. The 5-10 senior guard finished with a game-high 15 points, 6 assists and 6 steals in today’s 58-33 win over Providence. Godfrey made her presence known early where she scored the opening basket on a drive to the hoop.
The 5-7 sophomore guard was efficient from the floor, scoring a game-high 17 points leading Cardinal Mooney to their second straight championship game appearance. Behn was scoring in a variety of ways whether it was off steals or when she was attacking the basket.
Highlights
The University of Tampa signee added 14 points of her own along with 3 rebounds and 5 assists in today’s 52-39 win over King’s Academy. Davis shot 4-of-6 from inside the arc, 1-of-4 from beyond the arc and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. She was setting up her teammates throughout the entire game.
The 6-1 sophomore wing made a name for herself in today’s 77-65 win over St. John’s Country Day. Harris finished with a team-high 35 points and 8 rebounds scoring timely buckets to extend the Lady Lions lead. She also connected on five first half 3-pointers as part of her 20 points going into halftime.
Highlights
The University of Arkansas signee was scoring at a premium today, finishing with a game-high 47 points on 11-of-15 shooting from beyond the arc in today’s 77-65 loss to Faith Christian. The 5-9 senior guard kept her team in the game with her offensive outburst nearly completing a comeback where the Spartans were down as many as 22 points.
