The 2022-23 High School Season is coming to an end. Here are some of the top 2024 wing and forward performers this season.
Sydney Roundtree Sydney Roundtree 6'0" | PF Bishop Kenny | 2024 State FL (Bishop Kenny / East Coast United ) – 6’0 Wing
Roundtree is a big, strong, athletic perimeter player with a great body. The 6’0 wing is a volume shooter who can drop buckets in bunches. Her size and shooting ability are major assets and make her a challenge to guard when she is hot from outside! Roundtree cracks the top 20 and comes in at # 16 overall in the class of 2024.
Faith Wener Faith Wener 6'0" | SF Foundation Academy | 2024 State FL (Home School / East Coast United ) – 6’0 Wing
Wener is a skilled face up forward / wing that has 3-point range. Her 6’0 frame really jumps out when you catch her on the court because she uses her height well and has guard like skills for a front court player.
Leah Bullard Leah Bullard 6'1" | PF Dr Phillips | 2024 State FL (Carrollwood Day School / Candace Parker Hoop Dreams Elite ) – 6’1 Wing
Barnes is another strong, athletic versatile wing with a long wingspan. She can play multiple positions and utilizes her build and broad shoulder to play inside and out. Her body is her strength as she is bigger, stronger, faster than most players on the court. She seems to be still transitioning from a front court player to a perimeter player. Her stock will rise as she becomes more comfortable and productive from the wing spot.
Kaitlynn Weaver Kaitlynn Weaver 6'0" | SF Tocoi Creek | 2024 State FL ( East Coast United Clarke) – 6’0 Wing / Forward
Weaver is a big 6’0 wing / forward who is a bit raw on the offensive end but is active on both ends of the floor and plays with consistent energy. She played well out of high ball screens, catching passes on the move, and finishing well at the rim. She was also very active on the offensive glass.
Channing Warren Channing Warren 6'3" | C Timber Creek | 2024 State FL (Timber Creek / Blue Star Orlando ) – 6’2 Forward
Warren has great length and height and is one of the few players in the state of Florida that is 6’2 and above. Warren is the # 19 overall prospect in the class of 2024 and the # 2 ranked forward. She is fairly mobile with decent hands. She impacts the game with her rebounding and shot blocking ability. Her ability to finish at the rim and stretch the floor and knock down open shots from 15 feet consistently determines how much of an impact she can ultimately make. When shooting a high percentage from the perimeter and finishing inside vs aggressive and physical players, Warren has an even higher ceiling and big time potential.
Mya Johnson (St. Thomas Aquinas / FGB Running Rebels) – 6’4 Forward
Johnson has great size and mass and potentially is a diamond in the rough. There are not too many players in the state, regardless of class that have her height and mass. Overall, she has good footwork and moves well for her size. Johnson ability to impact the game and continue to move up the rankings will all depend on her development and commitment to get better and improve her offensive skill and productivity.
Sara Lee Blair (Dillard / GT Queens 2024) – 6’5 Center
Like Johnson, Blair is consistently the biggest thing on the court. She is a major presence in the paint and is an intimidating force as she is hard to move when she establishes position in the paint and hard to go around when trying to get to the rim off the bounce. She is an impactful defensive rebounder and shot blocker and has ability to score at the rim when she gets low post touches or grabs offensive rebounds for put backs.
