The Garden State never ceases to amaze when it comes to talent, and what better way to show off that talent than by joining the 1K club. Here’s an updated list of 1000 point scorers since our last update in February.
Cara McCoy Cara McCoy 5'6" | SG Barnegat | 2023 State NJ – Barnegat (2023)
McCoy reached the milestone on February 16 and has blossomed this season into a massive playmaker and one of the best pure scorers in the region for the Bengals. From 13.4 PPG last season to 16.2 PPG this season, that jump in production is no fluke as she’s developed her three-point game more and make the most of her opportunities at the foul line.
Jada Jacobs Jada Jacobs 5'7" | PG Medford Tech | 2023 State NJ – Medford Tech (2023)
Jacobs has been a player that we’ve talked about plenty of times before and she’s more than deserved the attention as one of the most impressive offensive talents we’ve seen in South Jersey in some time. All but two of her points to get to 1000 have been scored in the past two seasons at Medford Tech, where she’s averaging over 20 PPG in her career.
Nina Emnace Nina Emnace 5'6" | PG Trinity Hall | 2024 State NJ – Trinity Hall (2024)
One of a select few juniors this season to reach the mark, Emnace has been nothing short of a revelation for Trinity Hall this season, stepping up her game to new heights with a near 20 PPG scoring average and 60 made three-pointers on the season. Let’s not forget her defensive prowess, averaging over four steals a game, but that outside production has propelled her overall success tremendously.
Emma Starr Emma Starr 5'9" | SG Northern Highlands | 2023 State NJ – Northern Highlands (2023)
It has been a steady stream of success for Starr, who has carried herself to this milestone thanks to back-to-back great seasons of production that began during her junior year. Despite the Covid-shortened season, she’s still been draining shots, hitting threes and making opponents clueless on the floor.
Bailey Chapman – Sparta (2023)
Chapman, like teammates Brynn McCurry Brynn McCurry 6'1" | PF Sparta | 2023 State NJ and Ally Sweeney Ally Sweeney 5'8" | SG Sparta | 2023 State NJ , was bound to reach the 1000 point plateau, and it couldn’t have come at a better time for her, currently amidst her best season for the Spartans. Of anything, the biggest thing that stands out for us regarding Chapman is her free throw shooting this season, shooting 87.4 percent (111-of-127)
Grace Kowalski Grace Kowalski 5'6" | SG Montville | 2023 State NJ – Montville (2023)
Easily one of the best all-around guards in the state, Kowalski is known as much for her scoring and offense as she’s known for her passing on the floor, but it was her scoring that showed in scoring her 1000th point. The senior currently is averaging 13.3 PPG for Montville and has more than 200 steals, 135 3-pointers, 350 rebounds and 350 assists in 95 career games.
Casey Miller Casey Miller PG Bound Brook | 2023 State NJ – Bound Brook (2023)
Success can come slowly for some and fast for others. For Miller, it was a slow grind, a slow development, but her reaching the 1000 point plateau was well-deserved and wow what a season she’s currently having for Bound Brook, averaging 20.5 PPG along with 6.5 APG and 5.5 SPG. She has over 330 rebounds, 400 assists and 330 steals in her career (90 games).
