Pepp had been in a boot and actually missed her team’s previous 2 games so as was scanning the games, I caught bits and pieces of her exploding off the dribble yet I could tell something was wrong. She’ll be ready for club season which is right around the corner and I’m expecting a breakout year on the circuit, trust me
Abigail Tomaski Abigail Tomaski 6'0" | SG Memorial | 2023 State TX -6’0 SG (Memorial) 2023
Tomaski was on fire and watching the 1-2 combination of Riley McCloskey Riley McCloskey 5'3" | PG Memorial | 2023 State TX to her has been a treat for me over their career. Standing at the magic number, which is 6’0, Tomaski has no problem getting her shot off and not only was the outside shot clicking, she was slicing down the lane to score as well as moving constantly and scoring around the basket from the variety of passes McCloskey threw, including “no-looks”
Jules LaMendola Jules LaMendola 5'10" | SF Coppell | 2023 State TX -6’0 SG/SF (Coppell) 2023
LaMendola is one of those players that can hurt a team in multiple ways. First of all, her size, yeah, she’s at the magic number also, and the magic she performs on the court stood out from my initial sighting when she was in middle school. She can drop the long ball as well as the midrange yet her scoring around the basket with either hand was in full effect as she has over half of her team’s points at halftime. Her court vision was also impressive but she did a good job hitting the boards and defending as well
Chelsy Singleton Chelsy Singleton 5'7" | CG Cy Ranch | 2023 State TX -5’7 CG (Cy Ranch) 2023
Singleton gave me a glimpse of her acrobatic finishes as I “wrapped around” to different games hoping for one that actually had the camera working. Her ability to take over games offensively stood out in middle school and watching her score in droves last night, well every time I clicked over she was scoring off the dribble as well as from the outside
India Jackson India Jackson 5'10" | PF Fort Bend Austin | 2023 State TX -5’1- PF (Fort Bend Austin) 2023
Jackson had me tweet that “if I was in a battle, I would want her in it” because she is RELENTLESS on the boards. I love #THROWBACK stuff, aka things, you can’t teach and her sheer desire caught my eye during the club season and both during her senior year. She follows her shot, she plays the passing lane but she also scored in the paint with either hand, not to leave out her interior defense as she closed out her high school career
Justice Carlton Justice Carlton 6'1" | PF Seven Lakes | 2024 State TX -6’1 PF (Seven Lakes) 2024
Carlton scored off the dribble and finished strongly after contact, that’s a big plus yet an even bigger plus is her midrange jumper which has taken her impressive game to a different level. I think back to yesteryear when I didn’t know her name, no roster, yet I knew her game would evolve and it has as she has become more than a “back to the basket” scorer
Madison Carlton Madison Carlton 6'2" | PF Seven Lakes | 2026 State TX -6’2 PF/C (Seven Lakes) 2026
Carlton is continuing to come into her own and first of all, she’s long and athletic, which will always be the base. She blocked numerous shots, rebounded on both ends of the floor, and ran the floor, on both ends. She also defended both in and outside the paint and scored around the basket
