THE TEAMS

Saline
Ypsilanti
Ypsilanti Lincoln
PREDICTIONS
Semifinals – Ypsilanti vs. Saline (3/1, 5:30PM, @ Belleville)
Prediction: Saline
The Hornets have too many shooters and scorers. I see them being too much on the offensive end in this game.
Semifinals – Belleville vs. Ypsilanti Lincoln (3/1, 7PM, @ Belleville)
Prediction: Belleville
Belleville played Ypsilanti Lincoln earlier in the season and had a dominating win. Lincoln is a better team now, but then again, so is Belleville. I think the Tigers are too athletic and have too many impact players.
Championship – Saline vs. Belleville (3/3, 7PM, @ Belleville)
Prediction: Saline
This was a tough one to pick as I believe both of these squads have elite young talent and 2 of the best coaches in the state. Both of these teams are capable of making a deep tournament run.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Stemmer may be the key to a district title for Saline. She’s a savvy veteran that can take and make big shots. Stemmer can get hot with her jumper and change the feel of a game. Best thing is, she’s turned herself into a legit 2 way player that can be a difference maker defensively.
Sylver Bowles
Sylver Bowles
Bowles has been the leader and go-to scorer for the Grizzlies this season. She’ll be asked to have a big game in the semifinals against Saline. Bowles can get off a 3 point shot both off the dribble and the catch. She can also create turnovers defensively and push the ball in transition.
On a team with a ton of young talent, I think Stone-Palmer could be key in the first round. She’s a veteran on the team and is matchup nightmare. She can defend from baseline to baseline and both in the paint and on the perimeter. Stone-Palmer can play outside-in as well as inside-out.
Brianna Clark
Brianna Clark
Clark leads the way, especially offensively for the Railsplitters. She’s a dynamic offensive player that can make things happen on the wing. Clark can create looks at the rim off the bounce, she can finish in the open floor, and also score out of a halfcourt set. She had 39 points in a win against Adrian earlier in the season.
