Continue ReadingUpdating senior class rankings is always a bittersweet thing, on one hand we’ve had the privilege to watch them grow for the last 4 years, but on the other hand you start to realize that this is the end of the line for those kids. So with that being said let’s take a look into what the Top 5 of the 2023 have be able to accomplish.
Macey Huard Macey Huard 6'2" | SG Valor Christian | 2023 State CO – Valor Christian
Macey Huard Macey Huard 6'2" | SG Valor Christian | 2023 State CO has been a huge part of Valor Christian does offensively for the last couple of years and this year hasn’t been any different with averages of 20.8 points and 6.9 rebounds a game, she has plan to end her senior year on top again. The Montana State commit currently has her team #1 in 6A with a little over two weeks left in the regular season. Which is plenty of time for the senior guard to hit the 1000-point mark.
Brooke Murrell Brooke Murrell 6'2" | PF Thomas Jefferson | 2023 State CO – Thomas Jefferson
Brooke Murrell Brooke Murrell 6'2" | PF Thomas Jefferson | 2023 State CO has been a model of what growth and consistency looks like, she is truly one of the players in the that has improved her game from year to year, regardless of her teams wins and losses. As she sets off to Hawaii next season, to start her college career she hopes to make a strong push into the playoffs and hopefully be able to go out with a bang. Over her 4-year career at Thomas Jefferson she has averaged a double- double 17.1 points and 11.7 rebounds and has scored over 1,300 points.
Aiyana Mitchell Aiyana Mitchell 6'4" | C Fountain-Fort Carson | 2023 State CO – Fountain-Fort Carson
Aiyana Mitchell Aiyana Mitchell 6'4" | C Fountain-Fort Carson | 2023 State CO is player that began to become a household name during the summer of 2021, when her recruitment started to heat up. After the countless offers coaches reaching out Aiyana will end up calling Vanderbilt her home for college. At 6’8 she is dominate in the paint on both ends of the floor taking up space on defense and forcing littler guards into difficult shots. Offensively she has great hands around the rim and can step out and knock down the 15 footer when needed. As state tournament approaches Fountain-Fort Carson is 17-2 and is looking to make a Coliseum appearance this year.
Ali Wetta Ali Wetta 5'10" | SG Valor Christian | 2023 State CO – Valor Christian
Ali hasn’t had the high school career she would’ve hoped for having been injured for 3 of the 4 years but the Utah State commit has still been able to leave her mark on the game. Ali is big guard that can knock down shots from anywhere on the floor as well as get into the lane and finish with the best of them. She is one of the better playmakers given her ability to be able see over the top of defenders. Even with all of that her defense is what makes her special, she plays with so much energy that opposing players are usually just worn out by time the fourth quarter comes around.
Kyrah Daniels Kyrah Daniels 6'1" | PF ThunderRidge | 2023 State CO – ThunderRidge
Kyrah Daniels Kyrah Daniels 6'1" | PF ThunderRidge | 2023 State CO has come in taken some people by surprise this season, the Missouri State commit played in Washington last season before moving to Colorado for her senior season and she hasn’t not disappointed. Kyrah is a 3-level scorer that can get downhill in transition and find her spots. Defensively she is a gem, being that is able to guard and switch 1-5 most games, she’s great at taking away players first looks and forcing them into tough looks. With Kyrah at front for Thunderridge I’m interested to if they are able to turn some head come state tournament.
