With that being said, College Station is in the playoffs after defeating Brenham but not sure if Brenham made it because if Max Preps is correct, they tied for 4th with Montgomerey so you have to go to the UIL Playoffs Brackets I placed on my site
College Station’s supporting cast of Taylah Wright, Williyah Everline, and Tearra Burleson all played huge roles in their teams’ win while Brenham’s senior guard Ka’Mya Stringfellow gave them several boosts to help make early runs in the first half
Here are the STANDOUTS from last night
College Station
Jaeden McMillin Jaeden McMillin 6'0" | SF College Station | 2023 State TX [2023]
McMillin has been under my radar for a very long time, in fact as a 6th grader I said she could get to the rim and score. Nothing has changed other than she’s taller, stronger, and more powerful yet her finishes after contact, with either hand, were too much to handle. She also showed the hands and footwork in the paint, rebounded on both ends, played solid interior defense, and also played the passing lane
Jaydan Davenport Jaydan Davenport 5'10" | PF College Station | 2023 State TX -6’0 PF [2023]
Davenport caught my eye playing with the Lady Thunder and after watching her during the club season, I added her to the Top 100. She did things you can’t teach and relentlessly going after the ball off the rim was#THROWBACK for me. She attacks the basket strongly and finishes the same way. Her defense inside the paint has always been good yet she can also defend on the perimeter, plus she also plays the passing lane
Reese Vivaldi [2023]
Vivaldi was also on that Aggieland team and showed she could knock down shots yet she took it to another level with the Lady Thunder club team and made my SHOOTERS Tip Sheet from the Heart Of Texas a few years ago. I loved watching her create her shot under pressure and get to wherever she wanted to drop the midrange but her “catch and shoot” from very DEEP Just Did It for me
Brenham
Yazmine Gaines-5’4 G [2025]
Gaines gained plenty of attention when she maneuvered down the floor. Her deceptive first step enabled her to get by defenders both in the open court as well as the set and she attacked the basket with either hand. Her finishes were strong, even after the lick yet she also did a good job creating her shot and knocking it down
Halle Scheel-5’5 G [2024]
Scheel had me looking hard to make out her number as it blended in with her team’s jersey yet watching her attack the basket at will and finish using some impressive body control had me reaching for the specs. She handles the ball and sees the floor under pressure, she also knocked down the midrange
Jayde Powell-5’10 C/F [2024]
Powell is “long and athletic” which will always be the base, She did a good job defending both in and out of the paint, and she also rebounded on both ends of the court but what impressed me, even more, was her timing as she blocked, altered and (or) deflected shots. She showed nice moves around the basket and has some very good upside
