The games pitted teams from the Missouri side against teams from the Kansas side in a very competitive day of basketball. Here is a look at the top point/combo guards from the event.
Ramyiah Logan Ramyiah Logan 5'7" | PG Lincoln Prep | 2023 State MO (Lincoln Prep): The 5’7″ 2023 point guard scored 18 points in Lincoln’s victory over Basehor-Linwood in the opening game. The lefty is physically strong with a quick first step to beat defenders into the lane, where she has a nice floater. Her court vision was excellent as she set up teammates for buckets throughout the game.
Taliyah Scott Taliyah Scott 5'4" | CG Truman | 2023 State MO (Truman): A 5’6″ 2023 point guard who was doing an excellent job of pushing the pace in the open court. She had a couple of nice coast to coast drives for easy layups.
Jaydn Wooten (Blue Valley): The 2024 point guard is one of the top floor generals in the country. Her feel for the game and court vision is tremendous as she can pass her teammates open. They are right on the money. She can create her own shot off the dribble and she has 3-point range.
Urya Williams Urya Williams 5'6" | CG Truman | 2023 State MO (Truman): The 5’6″ 2023 combo guard showcased her dynamic speed and electric play in the open court in the Patriots’ victory over Blue Valley. She has a multitude of escape moves and her pull up jumper was butter. She went down with an apparent injury in the fourth quarter.
LaKorria Brown (Raytown): A 5’2″ 2023 point guard who is very quick and capable of getting downhill on the drive to score amongst the taller players. She can also knock down the open 3-pointer. It was her Corner 3-pointer in the closing seconds that proved to be the game-winning shot in the Bluejays 52-51 victory over Bishop Miege.
Layla Scott Layla Scott 5'4" | CG Truman | 2024 State MO (Truman): A 5’6″ 2024 guard who was a ball hawk on defense with her speed and on-ball pressure. She was hitting 3-pointers off the catch and also knocking them down off the step-back. She also plays well without the ball with her movement to get open for layups.
Lailah Hatcher Lailah Hatcher 5'7" | PG Link | 2025 State MO (Raytown): A 5’6″ 2025 point guard who was able to thread the needle with a nice pass on multiple occasions. She is also a talented offensive player who showed the ability to get a bucket at all three levels. Her float game was solid and she could hit the 3-pointer if the defender backed off of her.
Faith McCallop (Bishop Miege): A 5’4″ 2026 point guard who has tremendous speed and quickness. She is a pass-first point guard who distributes the ball well and organizes things well on offense. She can also be disruptive on the defensive end with her pressure.
Kodi Greer (Basehor-Linwood): A 5’6″ 2024 point guard who has good handles and the ability to create her own shot off the dribble. She has a nice cross-over move and she was knocking down the 3-pointer off the step back.
