Continue Reading1A schools may be small in enrollment numbers but they are definitely not small on talent. They do not play on the biggest stage during the school season but they are bringing their game when it counts. Here are some of the players who made noise at Redbird Arena on opening night.
The 5’9” junior is a defensive machine. No rebound was safe when she was in the vicinity. Her communication on the floor was impressive. She called screens and had a ton of hustle back and forth. She dished out some nice assists. She is a confident player who assisted with her team’s success this season. Cannot wait to see her on the AAU circuit.
Highlights
Taylor is a playmaker. The junior shooting guard has one mission, and it is to win games. Her strength overpowers her opponents. This allows her to score from a variety of places. She plays bigger than her size and her defense is just as strong. She battles through contact incessantly. She has improved her play tremendously this year. Her team reaped the benefits.

Gianna Kreps is a smooth shooter with a natural jump shot. She drives hard to the basket. She successfully draws fouls and converts those plays to points. Her size allows her to dominate the paint on both ends. She does what needs to be done. She also adjusts her play to what the situation needs and follows through.

Ruari Quarnstrom gets the job done on the court. She is strong with the ball and converts rebounds into second chance points. She has great court vision. Her hands are deceptively quick, and she delivers timely passes. She can rack up assists and that adds to her impressive stat line.

Grace Dimoke
Grace Dimoke battles at both ends for every possession. She is a rebounding machine. Her defense allowed her team to convert points. She was a critical part in overcoming a huge point deficit in the last minutes of the game. She communicated well and put her players in position. She was also able to chip in some points to complement her defensive play.
