What a career it’s been for Macey Huard Macey Huard 6’2″ | SG Valor Christian | 2023 State CO at Valor Christian. She has won a state championship (2021), and accumulated over 1,000 points in her 4 years. She also averaged 21.7 her senior year. Although the season ended sooner than she would’ve liked, she proved time and time again to be one of the state’s best players for multiple years now. We look forward to following Macey as she continues her basketball career at Montana State next year and she comes in as one of the top players in the state.
When teams played Thomas Jefferson this past season the focal point of everybody’s game plan was making sure Brooke Murrell Brooke Murrell 6’2″ | PF Thomas Jefferson | 2023 State CO wouldn’t beat them by herself. That is attention only given to the top players in the state. The 6’1 Hawaii commit had averages of 18.1 points and 11.9 rebounds per game her senior year. Finishing off her high school career as one of the DPS greats and is a player that was as consistent as they come.
Kyra Daniels came into Colorado in her senior season and had an instant impact on our rankings this past season. She proved to be a handful night after night for opposing teams offensively. Kyra is a Missouri State commit that had been a consistent 3-level scoring threat for much of the season including 30-point games against Air Academy and Regis Jesuit. She was one of the best offensive standouts we had and comes in as one of the top players in the state.
Aiyana Mitchell Aiyana Mitchell 6’4″ | C Fountain-Fort Carson | 2023 State CO was the staple of her Fountain-Fort Carson team this season. At 6’9, she is not only a unicorn in Colorado girls basketball but is a lot to handle at the rim on both sides of the floor. Defensively, she altered countless shots, which translate to easy transition baskets. Aiyana also was unstoppable on the glass ripping down every board that came her way it appeared. Offensively, the Vanderbilt commit was able to put a string together of 9 20+ point games, with one being a massive 42-point game in first-round win over Legend. That kind of consistency with her physical stature speaks for itself.
It’s been a tough high school career for Ali Wetta Ali Wetta 5’10” | SG Valor Christian | 2023 State CO having only been able to play one full season at Valor Christian but that doesn’t take away from the type of player she was. Ali is a Utah State commit that has the ability to control the game in a number of ways and that was on display. Starting with her high IQ and impacting the game without scoring the ball she is a defensive-minded player that lets that fuel her play on the offensive end of the floor. She is an elite player with a bright future.
