. I was in attendance for the event and here’s a look at a few of the top standouts.
1. Hunter Hudson – Chaminade
Hudson is a wing scorer comfortable with the ball in her hands. She runs the floor well, handles the ball in transition and does a good job pushing the pace. Solid midrange jumper off the dribble. She can attack the basket and she’s able to shoot the floater in the lane. Good interior defender contesting shots at the rim. One of the things that stood though is her rebounding. She uses her length well to get inside the paint and grab boards. Hits the offensive glass well.

– Harvard Westlake
Call is a pretty solid point guard. She handles the ball well and keeps the offense moving. She’s crafty with the ball in her hands. Gets to her spots on the court. Does a good job finding the open teammate in the halfcourt. Attacks middle and can kick the ball out to open shooters. Offensively, she has a good shot from three-point range. Moves using off-ball screens and knocks down shots off the catch.

– Brentwood
Furch is another solid point guard. Sees the floor well especially in transition and hits teammates with good passes. Keeps her head up on the break. Does a good job finding teammates in the halfcourt as well. Good outlet passer. On the offensive end, she is a good shooter able to hit consistently from midrange and from three-point range. Quick release on her shot. Can dribble into the pull-up or shoot off the catch.
4. Maddie Holden – Campbell Hall
Holden is very good ball-handler who slice her way through the defense and find the openings. Attacks the basket consistently. She’s good at creating contact at the rim, drawing fouls and getting herself to the free-throw line. Nice spin moves in the lane. Finishes strong at the basket. Good shooter can shoot off the dribble and does a good job creating separation to get her shot off. Consistent three-point shooter.
5. Laney Grider – Hart
A Masters University commit, Grider is a bit of a tweener forward. Depending on the matchups she can slide from guard to forward. She moves very well off the ball, using off-ball screens and getting herself open. She can cut to the basket or drift out to the perimeter for an open jumper. Sets screens and does well rolling to the basket. She can handle the ball on the break and knows when to give up the ball. Hits the glass well.
